Before I call it a night-for those not watching on video, see those 2 bumps on the top of the elevator shaft? One on the far right corner and a larger one close to the corner facing us? That's Jemison & Callidora right before they flew back to Times Square for the night. I do have the whole adventure recorded, but it will have to wait until tomorrow to upload.

Here is a handy feature for those who tweet from the field. But did you know that you can have your tweets appear on the streaming video page too? Just preface each tweet with @rfalconcamnow.
This convenient trick is really handy, especially when you want to tell your friendly cameraman where to point the camera.
So Shaky-Lou's tweets this evening didn't show up on the stream chat. I copied them over. Was it the capital R? never mind-one of them had a lower case...just glitchy I guess...

Jeanne, you are right, there needs to be a central database!! There is that place in Maryland (I think) which tracks all the USFW avian leg bands. At least that is what I have been told. We have requested info on a couple of bald eagles, but still no response. Maybe they would respond to GVAS?
Did you realize that USFW even controls the leg bands we put on the crows and keeps the record?
Suzanne
That's odd about Patuxent, Suzanne. One of the photographers on the Norfolk eagle forum sent in a band he photographed-I think it was a brown pelican-heard back all about it about a month later. Maybe try again? I do wish we had an eastern database like the midwest one.

Someone just walked past Jemison-not a clue-though I'm sure the wall is higher than it seems
Jemison's 4-5 stories up from street level (I wasn't counting closely-- too busy taking pics of him). He made a nice long flight before landing there, including a nifty dive toward the river just north of the Broad St. bridge. It looked like he might have been chasing a bird but I can't be sure. We were near the War Memorial/Blue Cross Arena and looking into the sun at the time. Still, based on what I saw today he's in the Zephyr category for me-- flying & landing well, no worries about him (unless he does something foolish like fly too low into traffic). Pics and blog post to follow. When the cam zoomed back I realized how high it was-the parked cars looked a lot closer zoomed in
