I recorded Callidora's fledge from the long video Shaky recorded.  You guys weren't kidding when you said it wasn't pretty!

Hey! Those missing feathers seem perfectly symmetrical! That is so odd!!! 

It's the same feather position on each side.  I know when birds molt they usually lose the same feather on each side at the same time, so feather growth is usually symmetrical. I wonder if some part of that mechanism is out of whack-either the feather didn't grow or molted prematurely or is just super slow growing.

New pictures of Warrior & Seneca on the CMNH forum...these by Steve Hall.  Warrior definitely seems to have missing a feather on each wing-hoping she'll adapt since she's never known anything different.

At about 1:15:00 into the video, Jemison flies from the next box to the south balcony. At 1:18:00, Callidora attempts to follow.

I'll record a short section tonight...

At 6:59 there was a bird on the white vent cover (?) flapping.  It took off directly west off the building.  At 7:06 I saw 2 sets of wings, one on the vent cover and another on the east edge.  Vent cover moved to the edge.  Don't know which was adult or which was juvie.

Gotta get work done...I'll check back later!
