National Zoo is currently in negotiations with China to extend Mei and Tian's stay for another 5 years - that was always the plan. I know SDZ negotiated Bai and Gao's stay for another 5 years as did recently ZA - they both got the pandas for half the cost this time so I expect NZ will get to keep Mei and Tian for a few more years yet! Read that in the Washington Post awhile back in an interview with the new Director for NZ who happens to be the old ZA Director so he has experience renegotiating Panda Loan agreements. ps: Yes I am also a pandaholic : Thanks Carly! I am a pandaholic too!!!! I want to volunteer at Bifengxia some day! Me too...both pandaholic AND wanting to volunteer at Bifengxia! I went to the National Zoo once when Tai Shan was almost a year old and did nothing but sit and watch them...I knew I'd never have another chance to see Tai.

Thanks. I think maybe you're correct. "Moth-eaten" is a good way to describe them! That wing picture is great. They are growing so fast, it's right in front of our eyes. How much longer until they are ready to fledge?
Only a couple more weeks. For females it's generally around the 6 week mark, males a bit sooner. I meant to also mention...the CPF has a great age guide here. The pictures are of Freedom (Archer's Dad) & Isis from 2002.

Camera 2 at 9:37. Are the girls sleeping on their backs or is it just my eyes? The resolution on camera 2 isn't great, but it really looks like they are on their backs.
I think it's an optical illusion...they're in the "moth-eaten" phase...patches of fluff & feathers While browsing I found these wings!

Wow! and Wow again! Great, great shots and I now can see everything! Wonderful! Where is (which direction) is Lake Ontario?
Hey piggy. Kodak is on State St. which if you follow it north it turns into Lake Ave. and ends at Lake Ontario. OK? Thanks! That big lake is one of the few "local" items that I can get a clear mental image of. Now, I can essentially point an arrow north to the lake from TS bldg. Here's a map... Falcon landmarks
