No I mean Windows Explorer..my files..I use Firefox. My files and folders are weird in 7.

It's funny how people do things differently...I use Windows explorer too to find stuff.  A software guy had to "dial" into my computer yesterday to patch something.  As he was searching my desktop for My Computer I kept wanting to take mouse control and open Windows Explorer for him.  I don't know how anyone ever finds anything using My Computer.

Hi everyone. We are very busy here in Louisiana at the gulf oil spill, but doing well. We are washing the very oiled pelicans and other birds that you have seen on TV and most of them are doing very well.

While this is just one bird it is a good example of the type of band returns we see from oiled and non-oiled pelicans. Of course it’s important to also remember that it is these individual birds that make up populations. At the ‘New Carissa’ oil spill in Oregon in 1999, the snowy plover population in Coos Bay was 30-45 birds. We captured 31 and rehabilitated all of them. They are an intensely studied bird and each one is considered valuable to the species. Studies of the birds showed that there was no difference in the mortality of these previously oiled birds to those never oiled.

Donna-could you post a link to the original article?  A friend has some family in the area and is looking for a spot of uplifting news...thanks!

I'm getting a lot of "Picture Not Found" lately on Main Cam and Cam 1. Is it just me? Started after banding yesterday.  ???
Try a few minutes back or before.

Oh I know to do that Annette, just wondering if it's my new PC or it's everyone. Just checking and thanks!

Are you getting it in the archive viewer?  If so, check if your computer clock is in synch with the RFC clock.  I'll get that when I click "now" if the 2 aren't in synch

Welcome back!  There is something of a learning curve...this new work 'puter is actually a couple of years old and very similar to my home machine, but I'm still being challenged.  And I'm laughing...your upgrade is to Win 7...mine here is from Win NT to Win XP!

How much longer is it anticipated that the battery on her transmitter will continue to last?  Doesn't it have a finite lifetime that is near drawing to a close? (~2 years?)  I sure hope she settles down with a mate somewhere before that happens!

Nancy in UT

It's not actually the battery that wears out-it's solar powered.  It's the harness that holds the transmitter on that is expected to wear out.

I think Jemison was on the borderline so they went with female.  Callidora is absolutely enormous!

If I recall correctly, when Callidora came to the table I heard (Barbara I think) say "Now THIS is a female. This one is HUGE!" As I said, only time will tell, though I have my opinion Wink

Hey sis!  You up?

Well, I wasn't...but I am now!

Callidora is a REALLY big girl...she's so much bigger than Jemison.  I guess we'll know in a few years for sure if Jemison is just a small girl.

The chicks have been back in the nest for a while.  Any sign of A or B?
I don't remember Mariah staying away this long after they were put back.
Is this usual behavior?

They ate not too long before banding, so I suspect we'll hear that Beauty is perched above the nest box or on Mercury making sure those horrible creatures don't come back.
