I have to admit even this experienced watcher was getting a little weirded out this morning

Yup-they got her good yesterday...tail...head...

Poor Beauty!  She wants to go over to the smart one who stayed in the shade, but she's doing the right thing by shading the wanderer.

My biggest hassle is getting the time off from work...I'll sleep in my car if I have to   

I just put in for July 15 & 16th off-even if it's not the "official" weekend, if I don't grab it now someone else will.

Here's a picture of the cake...

That's so sweet! 

Today in the lobby of the Times Square Building, Frank, the owner of the little shop down there, had a cake to celebrate the hatching of the eyasses. I took four of the watchers up to my office and after a bit Beauty flew in and out a few times, giving a nice show. She saved a couple closer squawking flybys until minutes after everybody left, though. It was very nice having some watchers drop by rather than peering down at them from my window.

Cool!  And nice to hear others are celebrating as well!  Did anyone take a picture of the cake? 

Yep!  I think everyone but Shaky took a picture of the cake.  It was 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white cake.   

Yum!

I just want to post this now in case it's still there in a few days so we don't forget & freak out...



Please note the one on the right has a piece of brunch stuck to her beak that is now dry & REALLY stuck.

Now this may gross some people out, but I've wanted to comment on this for a few days now...

The butchers of the world really need to start hiring peregrines...

When was the last time you purchased a chicken that was this thoroughly plucked?



OK...so it's been thoroughly tenderized too...but still...

I see, from the main camera, that the babies have consecrated the new box with their poop art! 

And quite artistically at that!

It is amazing. This is the first time I heard about this transformation. Maybe I was on an other planet when it was tell.

I think we need to come up with a new usually...these 2 hatched about 10 days after M&K's typically hatched.  In 2008 the official weekend was June 27 and that was really too early to see good flying...they didn't quite have their wings under them yet (except for Zephyr, of course-gave us all heart failure!)  2007 was July 7 and was just about right.  So maybe July 17th?
