Interesting...the eyelash feathers must go across with the nictating membrane...they're not apparent here...maybe a hint of them in the lower inner corner of her eye...

OK...the picture is a bit creepy...but in all these years of watching I never realized they have feather eyelashes!  That main cam is something else!

So let's say that roughly 14,000 people have visited Rfalconcam in the first 12 days of April. For all of March, the number was roughly 17,000.

It would be safe to assume that word is spreading about the egg laying to piggy-back on MAK's comment?

Most ever useres & guests on the forum was 107 on 04/08 3:11PM...just shortly after egg 1 was laid...
13419  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Has brooding begun?? on: 13-Apr-10, 08:21:30 AM
I think not yet since Beauty wasn't really on the eggs much last night.  Once hard incubation starts there will be very little time with the eggs uncovered...time for a quick snack at most, but usually just enough time to switch parent.  And hard incubation usually starts with the next to last egg.  So, assuming she lays another today, we could still have a 4th egg.  Only time will tell.

Boy, that is one fluffy falcon!
13421  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Third egg??? on: 13-Apr-10, 07:06:28 AM
What does everyone think? A third egg today?? When I saw Beauty in the nestbox early this morning, I thought we might be in luck... but there is no one home right now... except two shiny little eggs...

I do believe there's a 3rd in the works...just not ready yet.  I'm thinking soon...
13422  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Is there another egg coming tonight? on: 12-Apr-10, 10:08:58 PM

Sorry, Beauty...can't stay up with you on egg watch tonight.  Hopefully I'll find your new egg in the morning! sleepy

New pictures on the CMNH Forum from Chad & Chris of Seneca & Cheyenne

And for those with viewing problems...

"Joyce-- we only know that there are two eggs for sure. We could see them when they were a little more in view to the right of the concrete build-up. They are incubating directly behind the concrete build-up and even at our highest viewing point, the concrete blocks the eggs, even during an exchange when they are off of them.

We've been able to see alot at this nest site, so we're going to post a bunch of pics. In this first sequence, Seneca is coming out of the nest cubby with food that Cheyenne brought in to her... "
