well being a good father is in his genes. He got it from his Grandpa. Not sure how his Daddy was. Speaking of genes. What percentage of "our" next generation will be white breasted like Dad or beige like Mom any guesses? What are Beauties parents like? If I have seen them I don't know who is who.

And...I do have some research at home about breast feather color...there was some discussion a few years ago whether the buff breasted winter visitor could have been an M&K offspring...I seem to recall there wasn't a direct link like in people with blue or brown eyes...I'll have to look later...

You know, I thought my eyes were deceiving me - both today (Friday 9th) and yesterday?? Archer DID have food, huh? Any comments re this behaviour from the EGGS-perts???

   It's good practice for when babies come.

I'm fairly certain M&K (particularly Kaver) did this too.  I'd guess it's about no more leisurely lunches at the Old Changing Scenes Restaurant...if the urge/need to guard the egg(s) strikes, you do it regardless of what's in your talons.

It doesn't take long to dry-an hour at most-and it's not really that pliable when first laid.

How many siblings will this egg have? I say 2..3 tops.

You know, even though I KNEW they would nest here I am SO relieved to finally know for sure there's no more gutters for Archer & Beauty

I know we still have a bunch of people over on the Yahoo board who haven't migrated here yet.  The ones who read the board will get the news of the first egg, but those on Special Notices only may not.  Could you maybe send out a special notice for them?  Thank you SOOOO much for all you do!
