Sometimes she reminds me of a cat...

...and other times she creates a rather extraordinary abstract composition...

Love the night time double exposures...as Beauty is pondering whether to put us poor humans out of our misery...

Turns out it's Marla from the Toronto Private Residential site!

Carly posted on CMNH: C&C: Just heard back from The Canadian Peregrine Foundation and they can confirm that you do indeed have another Toronto bird !! She hails from my neighbourhood - the Etobicoke Private Toronto Residential site!

Here is her information from their records!

I can confirm after checking our banding records that the Black 15 over Black X banded Pefa that you make reference to was named “Marla”,

Banded on June -2- 2009 at an Etobicoke nest site, identified at banding as a female, weighing 889 grams at approx. 22 days old when banded.

Thank you again guys for keeping us in the loop about our birds!

Mathew Rossi who looks after Marla's mom and dad at the TR site sent me this nice photo of her that he took when she got stuck on his balcony.

I think her feelings were hurt when you called her "droopy".   2funny

 hysterical

Mariah used to do this to us all the time too...patience is hard to come by-she's surely trying mine! hyper

OK, what's the deal here? Is she feeling pressure? I know we are not falcons but how do they know when it's "actually" the right time to push an egg out? Apparently , Beauty is having false labor. Just when ya think......she hops out. Grrrr, new mothers.

I think she's just being restless...it does take a while for an egg to move all the way down & out...

Beauty looks bottom heavy Smiley

Oh yeah...I'd say that's a fluffy, droopy vent area!

Unfortunately, no eastern master database exists that I know of-at least not one available to the general public.

I have pics of the bands on the table that were set out and 15/X was there!

Well, we know it's from a nest that was banded after the Sheraton, then!  I'm sure we'll hear from Mark soon.

Mark Nash and company now puts colored tape over the USFW band on the Canadian birds to make it easier for the Watchers to ID them.  I'm sure red was used.  I'll have to look at my pics of Rhea Mae and Tiago's eyases.

That's what I told C&C over on CMNH.  I was just about to look through the 2009 pictures from the Sheraton too  happy

C&C posted a LOT of pics tonight of the fight with the sub-adult...I'll just post 2 here...

Cheyenne giving the intruder a good whack today

Seneca chasing off the intruder from near the nest ledge

It certainly isn't ideal, but it looks like there's enough stuff up there to keep the eggs from rolling too far.  Remember, before the neat little nest boxes we're used to they regularly nested on almost bare rock ledges-still do in most cases-we just don't get to see it.

I'll be sending an email to Mark Nash, but if anyone here has a list from last year, the sub-adult who got into a tussle with Seneca & Cheyenne in Ohio appears to have been banded in Canada.

From Chad & Chris on the CMNH forum:

"And STILL catching up from yesterday-- here are some flight shots of the subadult intruder who came in. We were able to read the bands through some pics and they are 15/X (black/black) with a red federal band. The red federal band threw us off-- Carly, do you know if Canada used red last year at any nest sites, because we know that black over black is typically a Canadian bird? We both thought that by the flight and size that it appeared to be a female, although we weren't 100% sure."

It looks to me like red tape over the silver USFWS band...

A picture of all 4 eggs on the CPF site

!!! Finally, a colour picture
April 05, 2010 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Linda Woods Reports:

After many attempts for a colour photo of Rhea Mae and Tiago’s four eggs, finally this morning around 11:15. It was a quick hand off of the nest, not even enough time to snap a second photo of either adult.

So here it is, the fab four.
