Catching up from yesterday-- here are some pics of Cheyenne and Seneca with their first egg. The first shot shows Cheyenne on one of his favorite perches to the right of the nest as Seneca is in the nest. We didn't know there was an egg up there and couldn't see it here, but then Cheyenne flew up later and rolled it out from behind the concrete mound (in the next four shots). The last two shots show Seneca with the egg...

Oh my!  She looks so much like Mariah!

Thought Beauty was acting like one of my Great Aunt's old hens at egg-laying time this evening.  Watched for nearly an hour.  Starting around 7:00.  Very encouraging twitches and rustlings and carrying-on.  And then Beauty left -- no egg. . .  I did note that her departure came soon after a fly-in from Archer a little after 8.

I believe it's a work in progress...she's spent far more time in and at the nestbox today than she ever has before...

What is she doing?

Getting the gravel right where she wants it... 

I placed a ? where I think the park is on my map.  If it's correct, I'll pick a better place marker...

I thought Buffalo's Rochester friends would like to see this shot taken by a DEC tech!

So Archer was bowing & calling to Beauty before she showed up on cam 1...



Just wondering...would he have been able to see her if she was on Mercury?  Or was she likely flying in when he bowed?  Still trying to picture the whole scene...

Orville's had to learn how to stand up straight to see over the gravel pile...

At least they're sticking with a theme 

YEAH!  Main cam is back!  And Beauty is having a nice nap...

What no egg yet?  Geesh, she must be waiting for the main cam to get fixed!

I had just posted the same picture in Rfalconcam now    We're all thinking the same way...

Main cam is stuck-Archer left a while ago...Beauty is there now...
