I was a bit hissy today...had to go into work and it was too late when I got done for my long walk. Had to do the short paved path by the road, but it paid off birdwise better than the woods! I heard this red-tail before I saw her I met a couple on the path & pointed her out. I told them I'd have to look at the pictures at home, but I got the impression she was youngish-her voice sounded young. It may be wishful thinking, but I think in this digital zoomed (so blurry) one she has one or two brown tail feathers left and it seems her eyes are lighter than an adult.

She's been out that way a couple of times, but she's back at Lennox as of yesterday. Makes you wonder what lures her west (probably a flock of birds) and what lures her back to where she started. Not quite as dramatic as her trip from Cape Cod to New Jersey and back last year, but a similar pattern. Interesting since she doesn't have a firmly established "territory" quite yet.

I do the same Ei...just hang my cam out window and hope for something. At least you did it right. Good job. One of these days I'm going to put an album together of my car photos. Most of them are neat clouds... But I did catch this redtail perched in a tree yesterday I was on my way home from the periodontist in Saratoga Springs

On my way home from grocery shopping I spotted 2 adult bald eagles playing talon tag! There was no where to stop, so I grabbed my camera and randomly took some pictures through the window. I actually caught them in one shot! They really are there...just to the left of the top of the pole I did clearly see their white heads and tails as they flipped around & around dancing with each other in the air! I guess the winter residents have returned!
