Due to a forecast of high winds, the banding has been rescheduled until tomorrow (Thursday November 5, 2009) at 10am Australian EDST.  Hopefully the weather will be kind as this will be our last opportunity to band our three chicks.  Any longer and there will be an increased risk that the chicks may attempt flight when the researchers approach the nest box.

Over the past week or so it looks like Quest has found herself a new base of operations at the Lennox power plant.  Most of her early morning positions place her near the dual-fuel energy producer.  It's location on the shore of...

Looks like Quest faked us out...she crossed the Lake on the 30th!

I saved this one to comment on how cute they are when their feathers are coming in and they still have a lot of fluff-they often can't seem to hold their wings up for very long, they're so heavy.
Didn't even notice until I looked at it enlarged that #3 is in the left corner...between the brown breast and white spots, she blended right in with the box!

Wow Ei, they were very lucky indeed. Good for them. So will banding be on Tues night here for Weds morning there? Time here anyone?

They didn't list the time, but I would guess it's the same as before...9-10AM...which will be Tues night 5-6pm eastern time.

Utah is a long way from the small coastal town of Anglesea.

But that didn't stop four falcon enthusiasts from Salt Lake City in Utah, USA, from making a detour on their recent Australian holiday to see firsthand the peregrine falcons they have long been following on the webcam....

In a pleasant surprise from Congress, the just-passed “FY 2010 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill� will give the National Wildlife Refuge System a budget increase of $40 million, which was the higher amount that the House passed earlier this year.
