Just saw this from Nora over on Yahoo...

One, possibly two hatches!  Go down closer to the bottom of the page.  If you click on a picture it enlarges.  Raptor Resource forum

Thanks Ei, I like your pictures. You have a nice garden. clap
The name of the flower is ageratum in Latin, don't know the Englisch name.
 rose greetings Aafke

Patti & Aafke, you're both right...thanks!

The Mist flower is an attractive late season perennial about 3 feet tall with blue flowers. The Mist Flower is also known as Blue Bonnet or Wild Ageratum. It is in the Eupatorium group along with Boneset and Joe Pye Weed, but it is the only one with blue flowers. The plant prefers full sun but is also found in some of our moutain woods. It is a popular plant for home gardens but can become invasive. The flowers first bloom in August and persist for several weeks. The leaves are opposite and paired and are triangular shaped.

We have good news and not so good news...
The good news is that the account and payment issues have all been resolved.  Quest's transmitter data is now being paid directly through an account set up by the Genesee Valley Audubon Society instead of the DEC.
The not so good news is that getting the emails...

Since Imprint comments don't cross-post...this is what I posted there...

OK...I'll ask the question...do we know if there's data to get?  I'll live with a blackout, my biggest concern is knowing if Quest is OK somewhere, even if we don't know where just yet.

Secondary question...will we be able to get the historical data once the dratted bureaucracy gets their act together?

Thanks...Ei

Just looking through some pictures (amazing what happens when you leave work at a human hour for a change  surprise ) and came across some oddities...

End of August I came home from work to find dozens of dragonflies zooming around my front yard.  Tough to get a picture, but I did manage this one.  I did get some video and some day I'll have enough bandwidth to upload something to youtube...

Last week I grabbed my camera as I was getting home (seems to be a theme here  Shocked ) to catch a picture of this little guy

and I took 2 pictures of one of the few flowers that have survived in my yard-don't recall what they're called-one with flash and, since it washed out the color a bit (the actual color is the out of focus one top right), one without flash...

I didn't actually turn the flash off, I just held it so it couldn't pop up, so the camera was auto-exposing for flash...some seriously weird color shift!

(OK-so this is where I like the original forum better without everything so categorized, it responds to the change in weather but really belongs in "pets"-although this will post on yahoo anyway)

You know it's cold when I get home and Chewbacca the Wookie Cat has burrowed under the covers...

My first instinct is juvie red-tail, but the tail stripes look a bit too distinct...but then again, not a big enough picture to really see...
