Hmmm.....she's never been that orange.
We're still tweaking the camera. There hasn't been an opportunity to adjust the color for peregrine falcons until now. Just gray stones in a gray box on gray plywood attached to a gray building. Shaky-does the new cam zoom in more than it is now? It may be my devices not working right...

OK--I am very late getting the falcon family tree done this year. Life got in the way of my usual good record keeping and I need some help. I've spent 2 hours searching everywhere and I cannot find the answers to:
Billie & Seth...how many did they fledge in 2018? Boys? Girls? I know we don't know for sure, but...
Ralphie & Alice...Statler...fledged 2. I have one report of a boy and a girl, another with 2 boys. Anyone know?
Alfrieda & Simcoe...Oshawa, ON...did they have any fledges?
Those are all the ones I know about that I'm missing info...at least I think that's all.
I'm WAY behind on pictures, but that will just have to wait.
Thanks

Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Sad news

I just saw some sad news about one of our original Kodak falconcam watchers posted by her sister on facebook... ~~~~~~~~~~~~
My sister, Kapi (Reith), died last night in her sleep. She was a gifted educator and taught teachers how to teach reading at the college level before she retired several years ago. She lived alone in Rutland VT and claimed Vermont as her beloved home. Her animals were her passion throughout her life and she is survived by Sophie, a rescue toy poodle, Gareth, a bearded collie, and Zed her cat. Kapi believed in a world in unity. Rest in peace, Kapi.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She's the Vermonter with the "Kaver" license plate. We haven't seen her in person in many years, but she kept up with Beauty and Dot.ca through facebook. She will be missed by many!
Well, I have finally seen with my very own eyes a peregrine falcon flying by the Mid-Hudson Bridge. No picture-I was tooling along at 50 mph in heavy traffic-but there was no mistaking it! I've been trying for years to see one there. NYS DEC has a camera on the nestbox under the bridge. I had to have a friend scope out where the box is from a boat on the Hudson. But all the time I've spent over there never ever actually saw a PEFA until yesterday!
