Now here's a huge difference in feeding style between Beauty & Nova!

I know we always noted how Beauty was in control of every morsel that went into the eyas' beaks, but wow! At 3 weeks Beauty's bunch had not had a single self feed in 2014. YesterdayNnova's crew had more self feeds than beak feeds!

At approx 8:08 pm, one of the big girls stepped out of the nest box with one foot and quickly stepped back in to get at the food Neander had. The cameras did not capture a picture of it

She didn't quite make it all the way out. I got these screenshots from the video. Only 1 foot hit the deck before she righted herself.

Aria and Indie's chick Noah (C/20 - banded in 2021) was seen at the Port Stanley Lagoons in March. Great to see he survived the first Migration. He reminds me of DC in looks so far

Neander flying past Nova perched on main cam

It only lasted one frame, but we had a tandem feeding!

It may just be camera perspective or her posture, but whenever I see Nova perched on main cam I think she appears very tall.

Double rainbow last night!

A number of years ago the "Bathrobe Brigade" will recall a watcher named dale. She was a marvelous artist and had a side gig doing dj dale raps about our falcons. I have all her raps saved

This full rap is long and it's not quite time yet for the whole thing, but I saw a picture today that made me think of the opening stanza of this particular one with a slight change...
