I've been checking Chris' website regularly for updates and finally found one. No need to start a new topic...hope things go smoother for him next year.
Chris’ Eastern Screech Owl Nest Box Cam’
Growing screech owls on the Internet since 2000.
(Formerly at <http://gargravarr.cc.utexas.edu/owl/>.)
2016? No cam' this year, I regret. A combination of exhaustion and multiple hardware failures mean that bringing-up the cam' was more than I could manage. As I result, I don't know what's going on in the nest box. I know the owls were considering nesting there, but that's all.
I can only offer my sincere regrets to this cam's many long-time viewers, and my apologies for the lack of communication.

Another thing I find interesting about this year's breeding season is that the hatches occurred on the earliest dates (5/1/16-5/3/16) for hatches at this site and the Kodak site going back to 2007, which is as far back as the Imprints archives go. That may also be a contributing factor in thinking that this season is just flying by.
You are correct. The events chart goes back to 2001-started before my time-no hatch date is listed for 2002, but last egg laid was later than most. M&K hatches were between 5/6 & 5/12.

Ei, you are The Keeper of the Stats... do you think this fledging season is going very quickly? I think those eyases are just whipping along! While they are whipping right along they are actually going at a typical pace. In & out of the box on or about banding day...more feather than fluff a week or so later...one adventurer out front well before our hearts can take it. And I take my cues from Beauty & Dot. Remember last year when someone tumbled out of the box prematurely? Beauty was absolutely frantic until she managed to get it back inside...she knew it was too early. She's taking this bunch of adventurers in stride...feeding them on the falcony...taking food into the nest box when she wants them in for the night. And then there's the fact that our perception of time accelerates as we get older...

We were discussing on the live stream whether Leo is the youngest. The question came up whether yellow feet (Leo) was the last to develop a mask. I buzzed through some photos I had saved...I'd say yellow feet (Leo) has more of a mask in this one than the girl in back with her mouth open. And this one 2 days later I would say the youngest is the girl in front of Leo, both by mask and wing feather length. Based on current fluff loss/feather development I think the youngest is Aria. My personal suspicion is Matilda is the eldest, Leo & Lilac are a toss up-they hatched a few hours apart, then Aria. Yes, I agree. Aria was also smaller than the other 2 females in these pictures -- about the same size as Leo. It's too bad that Leo is not the youngest. It would have lessened the chance that an unready female will fledge too early in order to join her siblings.. All we can do is keep our talons crossed and keep watch.
