Thanks for scoping it out carly. Well, I thought the construction was finished and I was obviously way wrong. It's actually at a worse stage now than last year. Certainly enough to have them off kilter.

I do hope that's most of the problem. If so there's still hope for next year if this egg doesn't get a sibling and proper incubation.

There must be some challenges going on. There are  so many healthy nesting age birds around now! Toronto is positively crowded...who ever thought we'd be able to say that!

I'll be happy if they all stay healthy. They were fine with one last year...even none this year will be fine as long as they're OK. We'll (knock wood) have plenty of babies to watch here in Rochester.

Sigh...

Early this morning, at approximately 4:37 am, Beauty laid her 4th egg!  There were a few people on line to witness the event, but it was too dark to tell exactly when she laid it.  A couple hours later, there was a changing of the guard, when Dot.ca arrived for his first look...

So happy to see eggs. Can't watch in person due to illness. So, I will watch from here. Here's to a great season.

They definitely want a fourth egg, I guess.   

Just for the record, I've got full time hard incubation starting with Dot.ca's shift yesterday at 6:03AM. Beauty was up & down a bit too much during the night to call it then. That is a typical pattern...approx 12 hours after the penultimate egg is laid.

I'm going to guess this is Tiago 

Other than the misplaced egg they seem to be behaving like any other pair expecting additional eggs to complete their clutch. Here's hoping they continue on course.

Hopefully it's just egg lethargy though we do know she's not a young bird anymore.

I wonder if it broke when she laid it. Poor baby. The other one looks fine.

Once she started, it came very quickly. If she lays a 4th one, it should be very early Thursday morning.

They each seem to come easier than the one before.

Looks like she's got it in a perfectly nice scrape down there.
