What's this? It's much whiter than the old camera. Why is the main cam picture at Powers so bleached out? It's an old camera that was moved there temporarily while I figure out how to get the new HD IP cameras to stream video. It will eventually be replaced with a PTZ HD IP camera. Very thankful you were able to get the cams set up at all...and the other 3 look fabulous! And very thankful they visited today! I was starting to wonder if the new setup had spooked them. Now we're ready whatever they decide to do!

I was searching for my link to the Orange NSW Falconcam Project and ran across the Alcoa link. Sad to say this is the message posted in August:
Alcoa Anglesea Peregrine Falcon Webcam-2015 Archive Monday August 31, 2015 Alcoa of Australia permanently closed the Anglesea coal mine and power station on August 31, 2015. We hope you have enjoyed the images and news of our Peregrine falcon pair at Alcoa Anglesea as much as we have enjoyed bringing them to you. If you have any enquiries regarding the falcons at Anglesea, please contact us.
Hopefully the falcons will continue to be successful. I will miss news from this site where we first met the pink nestbox modeled after M&Ks box.

Can we at least move some cameras from TS back over to Powers??? It is Oct. time for maintenance!! I'll be there on Wed, I'll help!! Not at this time. Experts are being consulted. Please be patient. That's all I can say. ...and I'd be hesitant to say move the whole system over there in any case. We don't know for sure that's where they'll be in the spring. While visiting Powers is new as far as we know...though without a working camera there until recently we don't know that for sure...they have never been known to spend a whole lot of time at the TS nestbox in the off season. Maybe an additional cam or 2 so we can monitor the situation in the spring and decide what to do after the season next year. We might not have the best views if they decide to nest there, but if we move everything and they do come back to TS we'll have nothing. Just my opinion.

And today: "gulp" Which begs the question...if the birds have possibly decided to move (for whatever reason & whether we like it or not & we won't know for sure until spring) should plans to remove that box proceed? I'm not so sure what the right answer is. Like the netting at KO. I'd like to see it removed but I have no doubt they'd give serious consideration to nesting on the ledge where the old box was if it was removed. As much as we'd hate the extremely limited view at Powers it is about the birds.

I like Donna crop most of my pics but i have a few w/ borders -Just got mine in on time I crop some too, but I always keep the original. Hence the need for yet another external drive... For those who can't use an external drive, there are many cloud storage services available for storing photos. Besides the usual photo places like flickr, shuttterfly, google photos, etc., there are generic file storage places like dropbox, box, bitcasa, etc. All have a free storage limit, but it's fairly large, and you can always add more free storage by simply joining another service. (I doubt you'd need to join more than one to store all your favorite Rfalconcam pictures.) You haven't seen my stash I have used dropbox, but my internet connection is so slow it takes forever to upload.
