Bobbie-do you mean your unread posts since last visit? I've lost mine a few times when I had to close the forum and come back. It's the "last visit" thing. Nothing to be done.

But you can catch up by going to the forum home page http://rfalconcam.com/forum/index.php and any topic that has an unread post will show a dark blue falcon on the left rather than a grayed out one. Click on the topic and you'll see the same for any posts you haven't read.

If that's not what you mean we'll need a few more clues.  Sherlock Holmes

Trout update!

!!! Trout - W over 79 photographed in December 2014 on Honeymoon Island - Florida USA
January 08, 2015 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Mark Nash Reports:

Jan 8th - 2014
A big thanks to Connie Adams from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation for sending in some of the photos of Trout that were sent into her from Will Steele. The little male peregrine that was produced at the Toronto downtown Sheraton Centre hotel this past season. This update is a follow-up to our earlier posting of him being spotted in Florida this past December.

We’ve often commented, that peregrines, (specifically that of the juveniles) are not too smart. Hmmmm, Trout’s lounging around on in sunny Florida soaking up the warm mild weather on a sun drenched white sandy beach while most of us here in Ontario are freezing to death in -21 degrees Celsius or -30 Celsius considering the wind-chill factor, expecting another dump of 10cm of snow. Who’s the real dummy here? :-(
Please Trout,,,,, take us with you!!!!

Here Trout was photographed by Kim Begay last month at the beginning of December 2014 on Honeymoon Island. Nice shots Kim!
Kim writes: I have seen it for the last 6 weeks on and off and was finally able to photograph it on 12/31/14

Her son, James, posted this on her gofundme site this morning...

Sadly, we have lost the fight.
Rip mom I will always love you.
Thank you to all who have helped in so many ways. We are forever greatful.

I too am glad I got to meet her in person. She will be missed...

I feed them too with black sunflowers seeds and I'm sure this morning with -37 C they were happy to keep their energy to survive and not search food.

True-when it's this brutal out I make sure to keep it full. They got the last of the peanuts yesterday.

I try to not feed them all the time even in the winter. I let it run out every few days and they go find natural food. It sometimes takes a day for them to get the word out that I refilled the feeders. And I really only feed sunflower seeds. I'll get a bag of peanuts if they're on sale, but not very often.

They seem to do well and I haven't noticed any real change in the number of birds.

Nest Update

01/01/15:

We've seen an eagle pair mating on the Osprey Cam, and since we know our eagle couple likes to perch on that platform, we're hoping it was them. If so, we might have an egg by mid January.

And here we were starting to think none of them went south anymore...

Woo Hoo!

Trying to get an earlier than usual start on the family tree. Perhaps I'm missing something somewhere, but I cannot find much about Diamante & Glieg's 2014 brood.

I found 1 tweet from Joyce that 3 females were banded-Phoenix, Gustavina & Terrazzo and 1 Peregrine Place FB comment that all 3 were flying well but that's it.

Anyone have any pictures? Know of any other reports?

Thanks!

Very pixelated, but you can see a bird fly by toward the top of the screen.
