I think I missed the memo...what does RGS stand for?
Beats me Ei-the building used to have the letters RGS on it but they're gone now. We just call it that cuz that's what we know it as.  I googled it and found this- RGS Energy Group, the parent company of Rochester Gas & Electric  OK then. Where is it so I can mark it on the map? It is on the southeast corner of East Avenue and Chestnut Street.  Okey dokey! |

Looks like 77/AX to me...particularly 6065. And the malar stripe looks like the one composite I had saved to the family tree (attached)
And I've always had her name spelled Billy on the tree. I record the names as they're published at banding. Same with Gurdy last year at the Sheraton. Someone later said it might actually be Gertie, but I go with what's published.

Just posted this over there...
I checked through the Rochester, NY band records. NY has been banding black/green VID on the left leg for several years with silver USFWS band on the right. The past few years we've had males in the 20s/BA series and females in the 90s/BA series. So I suspect it's a NY bird but likely from a different DEC region.
Something is tickling the back of my brain that I saw a video of a NYC bridge banding this year with a band number in the 70s/??, but I could well be WAY off on that.
We shall see...

Posted on FB by Jeff Flack  Me downtown waiting for the United States Air Force Thunderbirds to practice @12 noon. I should have an amazing spot as they buzz the buildings. Thought I heard an old engine noise. Looked up, a B-25 bomber! Kinda blurry, but I think I also got a possible Falcon in the shot below. B-25's were crucial in WW II - Especially, the Doolittle raid on Tokyo. Falcon????? Sure does look like one! |
