Over the weekend, Jake introduced his inner geek to his passion for old school photography processes.  By treating the back glass of the iPhone with photo-sensitive chemicals, he effectively turned his phone into a piece of film and shot an image right onto the damn thing.  Is this The World's Very First Wet Plate Collodion iPhone (TWVFWPCiP)?  As far as we (and Google) know, it is.  And you thought Instagram was vintage...

Orion once again redefines "pet rock" as he moves Orville out onto the deck.  Orville the beige egg shaped stone that has lived in the nestbox since M&K days hasn't seen this much travel since he left Kodak Tower for Times Square!

A post-mortem was done by Dr. Erica Miller at Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research in Newark, DE, and cause of death was probably aspergillosis, a respiratory infection that was probably worsened by stress and thin body condition. Additional testing should confirm this, as well as test for exposure to West Nile virus and contaminants.

So sad. That's what Rhea Mae & Tiago's Kate died from last year. As I recall she came to ground once and health check seemed OK so she was released. The next time she came down it was finally apparent that she was ill.
