I have officially reached my 1st goal of 35 pounds lost! The scale has been bouncing around that number for a few days now and this morning showed the next bounce of 37! Beat my best time running, too! 4.2 miles in 42 min. I need to stop that before I hurt myself. When I reach 40 pounds, I will regroup and analyze the next step, which will probably be the next and final 10 pounds. Then, all of my brand-new stuff won't fit. 6 garbage bags filled with a lot of new clothes were picked up last week by the Purple Heart.
Congratulations!

!!! All three fledglings are flying strong and holding their altitude! June 19, 2012 - Toronto - Don Mills Mark Nash Reports:
June 19th - 2012 Murray reports at 7:30 am this morning that all three siblings are together on the roof of 225 and sharing some stories of their ordeals and experiences! Amora certainly has a story to tell her brother and sister from last night given her ordeal with “Human”!
Cathy reports around 8:30 am that Quest flew in to the rooftop of 225 with food and the three fledglings and mom has breakfast together. (Well sort of, as the three fledglings had breakfast)! A very loud screaming noisy event indeed!!
These final photos of Amora’s examination just prior to her release were taken by Cathy Kerr. Thanks for sharing these with us, and for everyone that assisted in both her rescue and release last night. Stay tuned………

!!! And then there was two!! Calling all available fledge watchers! We start the fledge watch on Wednesday June 20th. June 18, 2012 - Scarborough - Yellow Pages Mark Nash Reports:
June 18th - 2012 A spot check with Yellow Pages today yielded some disturbance results indeed that has us more than concerned. It would appear that while we are on track with the official starting of the fledge watch tomorrow given the photos of the hatchlings taken on Monday, it might appear that one of the hatchlings is missing!
Kathy, the Scarborough Yellow pages fledge watch coordinator conducted a extensive search of the facility with the help of Paul and they were not able to located the third hatchling.
Two of the three hatchlings remain in their nest ledge and both resident adult parents are attending. It is incredibly bazar although that the past five days of spot checks have produced some unusual behaviours from both the adults and the hatchlings.
Typically at this time of the hatchlings development, we are seeing them up on the rim of the nest ledge flapping and carrying on in the usual fashion. Both Bruce and now Kathy have reported over the past week that this has not been the norm out here this year.
While it is entirely possible that our missing hatchling has already been ledge hopping (and there are allot of ledges to hide out in), it is noticeably odd that we haven’t seen allot of ledge hopping and flapping.
Kathy will be out there again Tuesday doing an extensive property search and facility search from the ground to see if we can spot the missing hatchling.
We are calling on all available fledge watchers to join us on Wednesday June 20th to participate in the Yellow Pages fledge watch.
Stay tuned…………… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope he turns up!

My favorite webcams are with bluebirds. The reason is because as the young get older, they react to sounds outside the box, no matter what it is (even thunder), only to sometimes be disappointed. Their incubation period is not long, and bluebirds usually have 2 or 3 broods a year, so when they fly off, you could get a second or third round. For those that want to see the action from the beginning, here is a webcam just east of Pittsburgh, Pa., with the first little hatchling, and 3 more to come. It is 24 hour and with sound. http://www.westmorelandconservancy.org/BlueBirdWebcam-1.htmOh how adorable! Thank you!
