Everyone in the same place
June 12, 2012 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Harry Crawford Reports:

Morning Shift:  I found Marlee on the building at University and
Adelaide around 7:30am.  He had worked his way around to the
south-west corner.  I was able to see him from King and Simcoe.
He went around the building at least twice this morning, flapping
his wings and hopping around.  At one point I could see him when
I was in front of 120 Adelaide.

Yesterday’s fledge is still on 111 Richmond but is moving around
the roof area quite a bit.  When I left, he was on the north
green railing.  Mom made a food drop around 9am - seen from 43 on
one of several trips up there.  The two remaining chicks on the
ledge were rarely seen from the street this morning.  When I got
home, they were both standing on the box camera.  When I just
checked [1:55pm] one was on the box camera and the other in the
nest box.

Breakfast at Quest's!

I still cannot figure out how the guy in that office can actually work.  They would have had to move me to get any work done.  silly

Whew, What A Whirlwind
June 11, 2012 - Burlington - Lift Bridge
Sue McCreadie Reports:

Oh my gosh what a whirlwind we have been on for the last few days.  Thanks goodness I have a girlfriend Sally who gets up really early.  This morning she beat us to the Bridge.  I had gone to the store to get a few groceries to make lunch and Bill had head down to the Bridge.  As I was making lunch, my doorbell rang and there stood Sally with a very wet baby peregrine under her arm.  When she had arrived at the bridge, Jimmy (green band) was apparently walking the pier and when she parked her car, she saw him take off and try to land on the hand railing of the lift bridge.  He couldn’t quite make it and landed in the canal.  He started swimming (the wing stroke).  She tried to snag him with a tangled up dog leash, and as she was doing so, she prayed that someone would come along.  Lo and behold, a fisherman came along and between the two of them, a fishing rod and net they were able to rescue him.  Now, Sally has a very wet baby peregrine under her arm and she wonders what to a do now.  So she grabs a liner from the dog bed in the car and stuffs baby Jimmy into a crock pot she has and off she drives to my house.  She and Bill must have passed one another on the way so she stuffs Jimmy back under her arm and back to the Lift Bridge she goes where Bill and David Williams were waiting with the rescue box and towels.  We put him in the garage to calm down.  A call was placed to Mark Nash.  Mark arrived shortly after lunch and after a quick examination Jimmy looks just fine.  He will be held over until this evening when Mark will examine him again and release him from the roof of the Lift Bridge Tower.  Thank goodness for Sally and her early rising and the unknown fisherman who answered her prayers.

Carrey spent the best part of the day still on the roof where he was released last evening.  Dad delivered a food packet to him there.  Around 3:00 this afternoon he decided to fly and with a couple of missed landings had to circle the towers a few times.  He landed safely on one of the beams on the Burlington Tower.

Port Hope is still hanging out in the nest box.

My goodness, what will this evening bring.

Eyes were deceiving me...

Marlee found again. Second fledge found
June 11, 2012 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Linda Woods Reports:

Bruce arrived on site and found today’s fledgling on 111 Richmond St ( building under renovation, across the Street from the Sheraton ) on top of the Hvac unit on the roof.  When I arrived I took over watching this bird and Bruce went to find the other.  It didn’t take him very long to find Marlee on the “Krensa” building at University and Adelaide. He was sitting on the black metel struts on top of the building.  Not much activity from any of the juvies. Two remain on the ledge. Adults flying the area. At one time Tiago took up position on the north east corner of the Hilton, without reaction from Richmond Street fledgling.  It started to light rain into heavier rain and the birds settled down.  Forcast to continue to rain for the next  little while.  Bruce decided that the rain will hold the birds down for the night.

Looks like yellow tape on the one on the edge-so Marlee might not have left again. In other pics the other one looks to be blue tape-FEF.

At least one fledge, possibly two
June 11, 2012 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Harry Crawford Reports:

Morning Shift:  Around 5am from home, all four chicks were seen
on the webcam.  By 6:30am, only two were visible.  At 7am, when
I reached the Sheraton, no chicks were visible on the nest ledge.
I then did a fairly extensive ground search and checked ledges
on low buildings - nothing.  Finally, I started to look for the
adults which required going up to the 43rd floor of the Sheraton.
Again, nothing seen.  Around 9am two chicks appeared on the nest
ledge and both adults hung around the north side of 120 and 130
Adelaide W.

After returning from another trip to 43, I ran into Rosalind who
had joined the watch again.  When we moved to the front of 120
Adelaide she spotted a chick on the roof area of 111 Richmond W.
We later found out that the chick was on the roof of 120 Adelaide
before flying down to 111 Richmond - well done.  Mark dropped by
and gave Rosalind a radio and instructions on how to operate it.
From home at 3:20pm, one chick was on the box camera and one on
the nest ledge - the third one not in view - possible fledge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I agree with Harry-looks like only 2 on the ledge right now...and one adult.
