Once they break into the air sac during hatching they start to breathe...and peep.

Just posting this in case anyone else gets the screen shown.  Looks like Ustream was flagged by Google as malware. We know it isn't, but it's not only rfalconcam so nothing we can do until Ustream gets un-flagged.

I don't recall where, but I have seen this before. It may be a while.

This aftenoon when I arrived we had only been seeing 3 juvies through the webcam. Thinking it was lying down in the back, I checked the ledge numerous times and still only 3.  Scanned the area roof tops and could not see any indication of a fledge. Rhea Mae and Tiago are really liking the new glass Shandra-La Condo tower located at University Avenue and Adelaide St.   Bruce arrived a little later to assist me in the search.

At 4p.m. we were seeing the adults flying north of the Sheraton over Osgoode Hall. Food transfer was done mid air and delivered to the nest ledge. The adults continued there low flights  over the Opera House. I then saw an adult sitting on the south corner of the DBRS building.  At 4:30p.m.  Bruce found Marlee in the court yard garden behind the Hilton Hotel.  Bruce picked him and we placed him in the carrier and took him to a cool , quiet area for a rest.  He appeared in good condition.  He was placed back on the ledge at 7:00p.m. by Marion.  Another food drop to the ledge at 7:40p.m. and all remained quiet for the remainder of the night. A little flapping, and a lot of looking out the nest ledge.  At dark, one adult on the north side of 130 Adelaide St. tower.

I can't report the details of the weekend any better than MAK did in her watch reports here and here, so I won't even try. And her camera zooms better than mine, so I'll leave most of the close-ups to her as well!

The trip was too short and a bit of a whirlwind, but I saw just about everything & everyone I set out to see!  Rhea Mae and Tiago...Linn and Rueben...Quest and Kendal...and all their babies this year!  And Beauty & Dot.ca & Pigott. 

Thanks again to MAK for putting me up...Joyce for schlepping us up to Canada & back...and everyone who came out Thursday night and Saturday to visit & watch with me...I had so much fun! 

If you've never been to a banding, you really must find a way to do it...those babies are WAY cuter in person than I ever could have imagined!

No flights, Rhea Mae has found a new perch
June 09, 2012 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre

Arrived to start the evening shift. After looking at the usual perches for Rhea Mae and Tiago I focused on the huge new condo tower on University Avenue, called the Shangri La. By 6:50 p.m I found Rhea Mae sitting on the east facing balcony, 3 floors from the top of the new tower.  An hour later she took off and out of sight.  Tiago appears on the north facing balcony of the same building.   The four youngsters remained quiet this evening with minimal flapping.

8:15p.m. Rhea Mae is seen hunting in the area of Scotia Tower and westward.   8:45p.m. the kids start vocalizing and a little bit of flapping but I could not find where Rhea Mae or Tiago were perched. I assumed they were in view of the nest ledge.  By 9:20 both Rhea Mae and Tiago were not in sight and the juvies had settled down and back from street view of the nest ledge. No food drop to the nest ledge this evening.

I'm home!  Wish I could have stayed longer...nothing like spending time with good friends! Missed a few-not enough time with others-but overall a most excellent weekend!

Now downloading 500 some pictures & videos. With my lack of internet speed it will be a bit before I can get them online, but I will!
