The swelling is down and it looks more localized but wish she would give us look at the open area that was on the outer aspect of the foot a few days ago.

I agree-she's kept it facing away most of the time. She's just not listening!

Absolutely!  Carol sent out a batch last night. It looks more localized in this pic-and the band is very loose.

!!! Yellow Pages Banding confirmed - Friday June 8th at 1:30pm

We are delighted to announce that we have confirmed a banding date of Friday June 8th at 2:00pm!
With a meet and greet in the lobby at the Yellow Pages building at 1:30pm, we will then proceed to band the young peregrine hatchlings at approx. 2:00pm.

I'm so excited!  The timing will let me make a zoom-zoom trip up to the banding! Joyce & MAK have graciously offered to go with me! Been waiting for years to be able to do this!  WOO HOO!

There is much to report on activities at the nest ledge over the holiday weekend. On Saturday, May 26th at 6:48 AM, the blue-banded eyas became a fledgling. His first attempt at flight resulted in a rescue from a low roof where a skylight prevented him from taking another attempt at flight. He was placed on the roof of the Rachel Carson Building and has been flying well since. At 7:25 AM on Memorial Day, the red-banded eyas flew and returned to the ledge. Today, the red-banded fledgling was rescued from the street after a precarious flight from a nearby treetop. The fledgling was returned to the nest ledge.

Thursday and Friday of last week the adult male seemed to be exhibiting attraction behavior, that is, he was sending notice to any passing female that he's available. Friday at 6:25 PM, a female arrived at the nest ledge and flew away. She has been spotted sporadically since the original sighting. Whether or not she is banded remains to be determined.

Well, you can't see them well, but all 4 are present & accounted for!. I couldn't see the parent from the other end, so it must have been Tiago.

Would you look at the size of those chubsters! Quest is stuffing them so full they'll never fly!
