Every pair is different, but generally in upstate NY the tiercels return late February-early March. Eggs are usually laid late March-early April with hatching early-mid May.

A rule of thumb I've heard Larry O. use is to start watching for tiercels to come back on Valentines Day.

Yesterday (Sunday 2/19/12)

Kathy O, Lisa, Dana and I saw Linn and Rueben sitting on the Yellow Pages building yesterday.  Both sitting in the sun.  It was wonderful seeing them.  

Sounds like you all had a great trip!  Any pictures?

No, not much difference.  And Unity's chest isn't as bright white as, say, Archer.  This is really the first we've seen her this close, so it will take a while to pick out more unique marks.

You, in Rochester, can you give us differences between Beauty and Unity? How do you do to differenciate them? And I don't talk about their bands, purple or red....  

Probably the most striking difference is Beauty's chest is peachy beige colored and Unity's is white.

As odd as it may sound, until we can read the black/red band we can't say 100%.  So far all we've read is the red H.  Am I 99.9999999999% sure?  Yes.

Eaglets sitting up waiting for supper!

I'll bet that was her on the Main cam last evening! Looked like the same falcon.  Is it time to worry yet? I know I am!!!  I may have to retire now!
