...with the exception of a new montage of pictures taken by our dedicated, out-on-the-street, falcon watcher, Margaret!
Lou
Just as an aside...I love the montage...perhaps it could be made into a T-shirt design? And the 2011 montage, for that matter. One of my regular go-to shirts is the watcher weekend montage you put together, Lou. Or maybe we could do prints? A confession-I don't really use my home calendar for the dates-I flip around to whichever picture strikes me. I keep coming back to the montage. Just a thought. Okay, Eileen. Easy enough. Here are some new products using your suggestion. Female T ShirtMale T ShirtAlso, I added one more based on an email request.. Thanks for the suggestion. Lou Very nice! The anonymous design is great too!

Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Help build a bird ID tool

I found this at Cornell's All About Birds http://www.allaboutbirds.org/labs/default.aspxWhat is Merlin? When people notice a new bird, the first question they often ask is, "What bird did I see?" We're building Merlin to help people find the answer. Merlin will be a new kind of bird identification tool—one that combines artificial intelligence with input from real-life bird watchers to produce an online "wizard" that helps people ID birds quickly and connects them to more information. To build Merlin, we need to know how thousands of people remember and describe birds. You can help us by playing games that gather the information to help Merlin understand what bird watchers see. The more you play, the more you'll help Merlin become a true bird ID wizard.

Just saw Quest land on one of the upper ledges with a fresh kill. She took off again, but thought you guys would like to know. We're having some snow flurries today, so am assuming Q&K will be using the box a bit more.
Not sure why they haven't moved the camera. I wonder if our operator has gone on vacation. Hmm.
Just as I'm writing this, Quest is circling around her building. Now just landed on the opposite building, top ledge. Oh...she's definitely got breakfast!
All sightings, no matter how brief, are very much welcome kat! Q&K won't likely use the box for shelter. Most peregrines will find a roost reasonably sheltered from the wind, but they usually only use the box for bonding & eggs.

Kaver’s Lament: That Eyas Did Me In/Two Juvies on the Nineteenth Floor
So I'm hangin' on the dolphins And I'm chillin' on the wave Pooped from flying with a youngun Wiped from stooping with a babe So I turn to old Mariah, she has pigeon on her chin And I kak so low and tender: "Girl, that eyas did me in."
"Are you RAVING, Kaver baby? Not a eyas, he's a juve!"
"That's semantics, sweet Mariah, but the truth is, I can't move--
He's a wired and hungry juvie And you seem to think it's groovy That he's bent on talon-tagging But my energy is flagging
and there's TWO JUVIES ON THE NINETEENTH FLOOR and they're flirting with some guy in the window . . .and there's Skye, flying up and down the smokestack like it's going out of mode. I just can't do no more hunting, not a bird and not a toad and not a rat and not a bat and not a watcher or a cat! I am sick of hauling dead stuff to the top of this here peak I am ragged and exhausted, I am tired from tail to beak."
TWO JUVIES ON THE NINETEENTH FLOOR Kakking treble on the left Kakking bass on the right Without mercy, nest to gorge, and it's going to last ALL NIGHT
