Well, a cash transaction is a time-honored way to seduce a female! frog

Using interior decoration and cash.

Thanks for the tip! It worked beautifully.

Bonnie, I would dearly love to read this report but it will not load in for me. I'll try again in the morning, but perhaps there is a link to the same report that isn't so long???

Kathy Clark has been keeping track of toxins in NJ birds. Here is her peregrine falcon 2016 report.

It downloaded as a pdf file on my computer rather than opening as a web page.

MAK, I understand completely. I'm still sorry for my post.

Dot, I just have had enough of seeing politics brought up everywhere I look. I have no problem discussing the environment and its effects on wildlife on this forum, just not politics. That's all I'm saying-sorry if I upset you.  wave

I sincerely apologize for my political remarks concerning environmental issues. They didn't belong on this forum. I guess I got carried away when the chick's toxicology report was posted.

Shocked Our current administration seems to be intent on rolling back recent environmental advances including banning of pesticides and lead, which can only help destroy all the wildlife already in trouble that has to live in that environment. In all fairness, though, the Elizabeth / Newark area and all those nearby wetlands from there up to NYC have been super toxic for untold years. I'm amazed any creatures at all can survive in or near that mess. Poor Cadence and future offspring.

This is just so sad and heart breaking. This should not even be an issue anymore. Come on, we need to fight to stop this *CRAP, yes, I said it!   crying

Many thanks!

I must have missed something. Where is this falcon from that's so inaccessible, or don't they know for sure?

Dot in PA

The area is completely inaccessible.

There has been a rumor of a nest site north/northeast from downtown for a number of years very near Irondequoit Bay. The juvie landing in the bay confirms it really is there.

I probably shouldn't get too specific, but I've gone on a few pefa hunts with local watchers trying to scope out the area. None of the areas suspected of holding the scrape are accessible by humans on foot. I don't think anyone knows exactly where it is.

Could it possibly one of Billie and Seth's young? Hopefully there will be an update if it is banded.

Thanks, Bonnie. The collapse was in our local paper last week and after hearing from you and Donna, I decided I must definitely be senile. I called the paper which admitted it was an old news item that "accidentally" was dated as new news and put in last week by mistake. I'm glad for Ossining and Puente and happy that your area is still loving birds.

Dot in PA

Crane collapse was a few months ago. Birds fledged. Ossining fourth grader at Claremont School where I taught for 10 years named one Puente.  Spanish for bridge. We were all very proud.  The love of birds where I live continues.

Thanks so much, Donna! Two or three days ago a huge construction crane fell across the bridge. I'm relieved that they probably had already fledged before that happened.

Dot, I looked for the latest article about a collapse, I didn't see one but a few did happen! The nest is still there and the kids probably fledged already! Here's the link for the cam!

I am so frustrated with the search on this forum! Bonnie, I know this is in the wrong place but am hoping you have some info on the Tappan Zee Bridge falcons. That's where a huge crane fell across the bridge yesterday. I may be spelling it wrong but the search brings up nothing. I cannot remember who usually posts about those falcons. If you know anything, I'd appreciate hearing.

humming bird Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes - they are much appreciated and also very pretty. I had a great day despite the miserable heat outside, and my sweetie found us a new Thai restaurant for my birthday dinner.
