Yes, I had math but still didn't get it at first, so I'm with the Jersey girls all the way! Dot in PA Think Spr-inter Or think wing. I am sure this is wonderfully ironic... but I don't get it. Bobbie, I think he means Winter - Spring = Wing. lol Let a = first consonant block of "spring" ("spr") Let b = first consonant block of "winter" ("w") Let c = "spring" - a = "ing" Let d = "winter" - b = "inter" Then: a + d = sprinter b + c = wing Also: a + b = sprw c + d = inginter What the?????????? Don't they teach math in New Jersey schools? I know the governor doesn't know how to count calories. Ok, class, what is a + c? b + d? Yeah 150 years ago!!

I know better than to project human attributes onto a bird, but I just can't help myself. I have always admired Pigott for her intelligent and sensible behavior. She left her Rochester relationship where she was the "second female out" and found herself a new home and mate in Syracuse. Hopefully the two of them will cope with the building project or find another more suitable nesting location nearby. Go Pigott !!!!! Dot in PA

excellent news! I'm not keeping up with messages pouring in on face book and email. Thank you to everyone who shared with us the PPO experience. Some good news in amongst this tragedy: We saw Pappa on a rooftop a short while ago, hooting. A minute later, their little owlet chick started 'hissing' / calling for food. We saw both of them fly together into the wetland. PPO's little one is still alive and well, and Pappa is not alone now.
