Resources / Polls / Re: Choose a name for a 2013 eyas (Male Names)

Of course you can vote for both a male name and a female name without canceling out each other.
Oh dear me. This is really confusing. I can vote for both male and female names but then I take the chance of a gender neutral name beating out either of them?? if I vote for a gender neutral then I am cancelling out my male / female vote?? I greatly appreciate your allowing us a say in the naming but wouldn't it make more sense if a gender neutral name was chosen only if the sex of the eyas was in doubt?? Or, even better, allow us to vote in all 3 categories and simply choose the name with the most votes?? It just doesn't seem fair to the names that have made the cut to be able to vote in only one of the two categories. Or am I missing something here?? Dot in PA

Here's a follow-up: I just looked at the 2 newest posts. The first was from Donna in "2013 pictures from Rfalconcam cameras", reply #1543, posted at 12:19.57. That one had the photo visible. The second was from Annette, "DC on deck in Rfalconcam", posted at 10:41:06. This one had no photo, just the blank square graphic. Wonder what's going on????

I read this forum by using "show unread posts from last visit". I just sat down to read the 3 newest posts and none of them have pictures included. Instead there's some sort of square empty graphic that I assume means the photo was not transmitted. Sure hope it isn't just me. I use Firefox as my browser.

I will really miss Big Frank. He did so much work with falcons and through his reports, many of us learned a great deal of practical information about them. Many fledge sites are indebted to him for his expertise and caring. The best part about his posts here was his wonderful sense of humor and his obvious joy in doing whatever he could to encourage the success of peregrines across this area. Dot in PA

I do understand, Joyce, that you either don't know or cannot safely report any Pigott eggs. If there are eggs in her cubby, though, I would have expected Dot.ca to be dividing his time more equally between the two sites. Guess we'll eventually find out. Rochester falcon watching gets more complicated each year lol and I'm so very grateful that all you watchers spend most of your free time keeping us updated.
