556  Rochester Falcons / Rfalconcam Website News / Re: A New Logo on: 27-Nov-10, 09:10:32 AM
Anne, I think all of us not in the inner circle of this group were curious about why we need a new logo. I can't see any harm in your questions and I would bet my life that NOBODY took offense at what you said. I'm sad that you feel you should keep your opinions and questions to yourself, or that you don't fit in here anymore for whatever reason. You said you have "learned your place", but I think your place is right here chiming in with any and all questions and comments. I personally have enjoyed your comments for years and want to continue hearing from you.

My current favorites are:

#47. I love the Rochester buildings but am not crazy about the orange font. Perhaps the falcon part could be in a brighter color like red and the R and cam could be black.

#45. I'd like it better without the bottom fading out, but the stylized face on the "M" is really cool. I wonder if this would show up well enough on merchandise.

#36 with the beautiful clean lines. I'd prefer the text at the bottom, though, rather than off to the side.

#40, which for some reason brings Kaver to mind.

must keep checking ... more entries including #7 with big yellow feet. I like that one, also #6 and #40 both in black, but right now my favorite is #36, definitely a peregrine with a fierce proud look done in clean simple lines that manage to convey grace, power, and beauty.

I sure hope rfalconcam members can also submit ideas for a new logo without being a member of this logo-creating site. We have many highly creative artistic people in this group (definitely not me  laugh ) who have a much better idea of the look and spirit of a peregrine falcon.

This is fun!  Hope more come in. So far I like #40 (best) and #6, both in black. They're sleek and give an impression of swiftness and power. I don't quite see why it's necessary to have the new logo say "Rochester". I liked Kaver in the egg but always thought it was a little too cute, given the predatory nature of a peregrine falcon.

I suppose we all need a reminder now and then of the horrors that humans can inflict on their animals. The story was so well written - Vick's victory celebrations and rave quotes about him - interspersed with what he did to that dog - that I almost wish I had never read it. sick-298 Poor Mel.  I hope he can some day enjoy life without such overwhelming fear.

good news How exciting that yet another M & K offspring has been found!  Makes me wonder once again, though, if peregrines really are the wanderers that their name implies.  stupid

eyecat My favorite as far as beauty goes is the Hoopoe.  For weirdness, I'll pick the Black-casked Hornbill and the Papuan frogmouth.  Thanks for posting this.
