Update on Cadence from Betty Ann Kelly:


I called to check up on our injured, female falcon BA/91...remember her? Alyssa at the Raptor Trust tells me that the vet checked on BA/91 and found that a callus is forming where the wing was broken (the metacarpal) so they kept the wing unwrapped while she continues to heal in an outdoor cage that will limit her movement.

ps:  She also added in response to someone who said the way she understands it is the callus is a good thing as it is new bone?

Betty Ann:  Yes, the callus means the bone is healing.

On my way home, I found Billie on top of a tree near ST.

WanderingFalcon (Carol P.): B still on arch ledge. DC is gone. Ending my watch. I just wanted to make sure they were both ok.

Can just about see a lump on the arch ledge with the camera shake and snow...

When I checked a few minutes later, both were there. DC on the left and B on the right. I was just very happy to see both of them after that nasty windstorm.

I read of Kapi's passing with a very heavy heart. She was a huge Mariah & Kaver fan and had the Kaver NH license plate to prove it. She joined us for many falcon watch weekends over the years and we were always happy to see her. Sadly, we hadn't seen her in recent years.

Fly free Kapi! You will be missed my friend.Until we meet again.
