Betty Ann says the egg was laid at 7.46 am so I was gone longer than 2 minutes!
I was watching. She laid it at approximately 7:45 am. She pooped and twirled like her momma. Unlike B, she stands up and quickly pushes the egg out. It was 15-20 mins before she let us see the egg.
So fill me in here, please. I see that some have taken to calling Cadence's mate Allen. What is the story behind that?
I saw someone posted that they felt he deserved a name so they called him Allen. If there is a meaning behind the name, I didn't see that post.
I asked. I guess two of the people watching decided to name him Allen instead of male or mate. I don't believe it has any significance. Just a name they chose.
It saddens me to do this, but life goes on in the falcons world.
The new pair are on the nest ledge. The male, hopefully Stormin, is at the far end of the ledge and the female is behind the nest tray. I would not be surprised if she lays an egg back there. Looks like a nice, big pellet in the center of the nest tray.
