1 pm. Cadence flew in and landed on the railing. She looks good.

They should have replaced that plywood with a nice sturdy platform of 2 by 4s.

I've been watching for about a 1/2 hr. Male in the nest. No sign of Cadence.

Hey! It's hard work laying your very first egg! 

I just her tail flip up and down ...she must be eating down there out of view.

and look at that sneaky bugger, flew in and ran right onto the eggs.  I bet he brought her food just to get her out there 

 

She spent a lot of time in the nest box, even going down tight on the eggs for a short time. She does seem to be close to laying her first egg.
