Rhea Mae? Back in the nest tray.

7:42 am. DC brought breakfast in and B grabbed it. Still only one egg.

Lisa McK, Kathy O, Dana and I spent this rainy day in Buffalo checking out their nest sites. This what we saw.

Central Terminal: Two falcons were very active there. Hunting, eating and doing a whole lot of flying. They visited the nest box, but didn't spend a lot of time there. Pretty sure the female was banded with a black over black band. Probably Gleig with a new mate. Could not tell if the new male is banded or not. Probably no eggs yet.

University of Buffalo: Two falcons seen. Male was carrying food. Female had full crop. Could not positively ID as Yankee and Dixie. Spent a lot of time at nest box and on tower. No way to know if they have eggs.

Statler: There was an event this afternoon, so we were only able to stop for a quick look. One falcon was at the nest box.

Richardson:  Two very vocal falcons there. Lots of flying and spending time at their nest box. Possible eggs.

All seems to be peaceful at the Buffalo nest sites.

Just caught up with this sad situation. I've seen territorial battles before and hoped to never witness another. It is not easy to watch, but it is the way things are now that there are many more Peregrines out there looking for mates and territories of their own.

I truly hope that neither female is injured too badly. Looking at the injuries the resident female has received remind me of Mariah's injuries. I feel so bad for her and Cadence who is only doing what she was born to do.   

Looks like Rhea Mae is spending the night at the nest tray. Hoping for an egg soon.

At 8:11am DC flew over to Beauty and they mated on OCSR. Beauty is now back on the egg and DC took her spot on OCSR.

At 7:08 am brought breakfast in for Beauty and took over egg sitting. One of his favorite activities.

Actually 10:24 pm.

At 10:25 pm an egg has arrived!

Could tonight be the night Beauty lays her first egg?

Been out of the loop for ages, and am just able to get back as nesting season is under way. Thanks to ALL OF YOU for your best wishes after the "incident" - that's an insurance company euphemism - haha! Hope that things go well for the Pefas and watchers. Best to all from Bobbie XXXXX
