It's the frozen tundra out there!  Soooooooo cold!  Thank goodness there is no wind.  6,000 people with no power in the area.  Be very careful if you have to go out this morning and bundle up!  

Checked the stack on my way into work and did not see a falcon up there.

Trout is a gorgeous Tiercel!  Like Mark said, what a smart young tiercel he is heading for the warm climates while his parents (Rhea Mae and Tiago) hold down a frozen territory!

Kathy told me the sad news about Glo's passing while on my Falcon Watch this afternoon. 

I was so sorry to hear this.  Glo loved the falcons and I am so happy to have met her on Falcon Watch weekend.  She was so excited to see the birds she so dearly loved in person.

Rest in peace Glo.  Fly free.

Just wondering... do schools etc close in such cold conditions?

Yes, they sometimes do Bobbie.  The superintendent of the city schools decided to keep the schools open yesterday morning.  I was very surprised that they did not close them.

It was 6 degrees (F) with a -16 windchill when I woke up this morning!  That's a big BRRRRR!  The ride into work was better than yesterday, but still slippery in spots.  Enjoy the day everyone.  Keep warm and safe!
