Senior Wildlife Technician, Mike "EagleMan" Allen will present a PowerPoint program concerning the restoration of the Bald Eagle in New York since its fledgling stages in the mid-1970s. He became involved with New York State's pioneering Bald Eagle restoration program in September of that year, had responsibility for monitoring eagles throughout Region 8 and the surrounding areas. When New York's program began, only one active Bald Eagle nest was known to exist in all of the Empire State. By the spring of 2014, more than 300 Eagle nesting territories are known to exist within New York's borders. Fee: $4.00/ child, $6.00/ adult, $20/ family, FREE for Friends of the Montezuma Wetlands Complex. Call 315-365-3588 to register.

Good morning from a very cold, currently 27 degrees (F) and snowy Rochester, NY. Most of the snow clouds have moved off to our west, but we may still see another inch or two throughout the day. Rochester is digging out this morning. I'd say we had about a foot of snow in Greece, a suburb of Rochester. Most of the main roads are plowed, but the side streets are still messy. Be careful if you have to go out this morning!
