Wow! She was up there a LONG time!

I was there with her for a little over an hour before it got dark.  At approx 5:20 pm, Beauty took off and flew up into the OCSR elevator shaft.

How is Orville doing? I had heard a rumor he might not be able to be released into the nest box...

Orville is fine, well as fine as he can be in 4 pieces.  I have heard that same rumor.

Check Up at the Burlington Lift Bridge

On Wednesday as I made my way back from Fort Erie, I decided to stop in at the lift bridge and see how Cirrus and MacKenzie handled the rainy days of Sandy. I found Cirrus in the hydro tower on the Hamilton side digesting a huge crop! It was great to see her. I set my sights to spotting MacK when all of a sudden, they both burst out of the hydro tower and were on the attack. Attacking what I am not sure as whatever it was, it was tucked in under the Skyway and out of my sights. Moments later they both landed by the nest box on the bridge cables but MacK wasn’t to stay there long. He was off again screaming like the wind and swooping the same spot on the bridge. I tried to locate what it was that was so offensive but to no avail. MacK gave up the attack after a few dives and headed off on a mission to Burlington. Within 5 minutes, he was back in the Hamilton hydro tower looking really ticked off. Before I left he had settled into a peregrine version of calm and Cirrus stayed firmly plunked down on the cabling. Great to see the pair at home!!

A few of us from Rochester were there earlier this year and saw the same exact behavior from this pair.  After much moving around we were able to see what had the pair on the attack.  There was a Red-tail Hawk tucked in tight underneath the bridge.  Hard for us to see, but not the falcons.  Sounds like the same thing happened while Tracy was there.

MAK is in St Louis, she can see the Arc!! Next bus leaves at 6:10pm, it's 5pm there now. Hopefully she will get on the next bus. The bus always seems to be full when they pull in. Double, triple booked!! They sent 2 buses this time! Hope she gets on! You'll get there yet MAK!!

Has to be so frustrating!   

Hello from Indianapolis home of the football Colts. There were people running in the Monument Marathon as I stepped out from the bus/train station. While waiting for my bus I took a look outside and while I was taking pics of the sights I stumbled upon a FALCON! I only got 2 pics of it before it flew to the other side of the Greyhound bus/ Amtrak train station out of my view. I walked around the entire station but wasn't able to find it again. Came in to warm up as I am not dressed for the cold morning and download my pics to share with my fellow falcon peeps!

Oh my goodness!  Just had the cutest little princess!   

Show off!  Just got 4 more.  2 older, 2 younger.  lol   

Just got my 3rd Trick or Treater.  Older kids so far (14-15).  Can't wait for the younger ones.  Although this is a school night, it's a nice evening.   

Just an FYI that the last transmitter reading we received for Quest was from Saturday morning and she was less than a mile from the scrape location.  Definitely still hanging out close to home.
