You don't even need to sneak.  Just go up and use the 43rd floor ladies room.   

So does Mr know she's keeping him at bay for now! Poor guy looks so darn confused. Walking on eggshells. Is this a different kind of bow she does......the bow of "backoff?" I think I'm more confused than he is!

Like I said, this is just me thinking out loud after watching their behavior. 

Hopefully the Watchers will be able to get out this weekend and we'll know more about what's going on.  Yeah right!

For those of you in the area, Wild Wings is having their annual Spaghetti Supper on Saturday!  Great food, fun folks and our beloved animals!


Love Spaghetti!!!   Especially when your slurp it and it slaps you in the face! I so need a bib!!

I think your deductions are quite logical Carol.  No harm in keeping this guy around and at arms length either just in case the worst happens and Archer doesn't make it home, backup that feeds you is always good 

I've been told that a female will not chase out a male while she is waiting for the return of her mate.  Like you said, they need to keep their options open, just in case their mate does not return.  and the gifts of food are always good!  lol

This gal needs to take a bath and get her feet cleaned.  I think crud is covering up her band ID.

She was so used to walking around on and digging in Pigeon excrement.  Ewwww!

Either Mr. doesn't get it or he's just plain not interested.  She's doing all but dragging him into the box.  Weird.  ???

Carol P just texted, "Instead of inviting, she's telling him to back off."  That makes sense.  Why else would he not make a move?

Her whining scares him??

I don't think her whining scares him, I'm wondering if her whining is a communication that she is not available and that this nest box is taken???  Of course, who can tell.

In the time I've seen them together:

He brings food and I'm pretty sure she is taking it.  Can't blame her there.  Free food.

He does all kinds of fancy flying for her.  She watches, but doesn't fly with him.

When she was on the Mercury statue, he would make his approach maybe hoping that she would be receptive.  I have yet to see her lift her tail the way we've seen Beauty with Archer and Mariah with Kaver before copulation.

They do defend territory together.  I've seen this a few times, including yesterday.

We do know that Pefa pairs usually become bonded pairs for life, whether with a particular falcon or a territory, is unknown.  I do truly believe she considers Archer to be her bonded mate.

When Cabot-Sirocco did not return, Mariah took awhile to warm up to and accept Kaver as her mate.  She may have acted very like Unity right now. 

This is all just thinking out loud.  Trying to make sense of what's going on.   

An update on Beauty would be wonderful right about now!

Glad all the animals, except for the one, have returned.  This is really good news.

and as for that special test, well I'm sure you've heard the worst part is the preparation.  Good luck with it.

Just a heads up.  According to Ann B, two Falcons have been seen today around the nest site.  So keep your eyes peeled and if you happen to catch some pics from the camera, please be sure to share.  We are hoping that Kendal has returned to Quest.   

I love the way she perfectly crosses her two talons.
