Good rehabbers always need money...... can we send them some????

You're right nycbird.  Rehabbers can always use donations.  But I've found in many cases they want to remain anonymous so they don't get overrun with phone calls by well meaning, caring folks.  I'll have Kate check to see if the rehabber minds us knowing who they are and whether we can somehow get donations to them.

Mariah's rehabber did not want their information published, so we honored that request.

Some rehabbers are more than happy to be known, so let's wait and see what Callidora's rehabber's want.

Poor Callidora.  Thankfully she was found and is in good hands where she will receive great care.  Just as I arrived home late tonite, I received the bad news from Donna & MAK.  When I got onto my computer, I found an email from Kate St. John, with the sad news.

Callidora has a badly injured wing & is at a rehabber in PA.  She will be Xrayed to see the extent of the damage.

Kate has promised to keep us posted as she receives updates from the rehabber.

I'm sure the rehabber will keep Kate updated with Callidora's progress, so she can let us know.  I know how impatient we all get (including me!).

As soon as I hear anything more, I will share with the forum.  Poor Callidora.  Get well soon little one!   

Unbelieveable is right!  I see a whole row of Falcons on a tree limb, Peregrines, Kestrels...... Incredible!

Oh, boy.  Hope the other male has just gone on his way and there will be no territorial battle.   

Just an FYI that I have checked Kodak Park the last two days after work and have had no luck find Unity.  I'll keep looking.

I'll post this video here, since it's another bird to list on the Rochester Falcon Watcher's Team Big Year list.  I heard that some Short-ear Owls were seen inside Monroe County.  I don't remember the last time this happened.  Usually we have to go to Livingston County to see them.  I found them and they were a joy to watch.

I got a video of two of the owls "playing?".  To me they acted like two juvenile siblings, chasing each other, talon tagging and barking at each other.  I don't know enough about Short-ear Owls to know much about their behavour.  But it sure looked like juvenile play to me.  You be the judge.

Sorry to say, you won't hear their barking.  I was too far away.  I'll try to get their vocalizations next time.

It was a cool 5 degrees when I left for my watch this morning. When I arrived downtown I checked FCT first then KO without any sign of Beauty. I then drove down Broad St. and parked beside the Democrat and Chronicle across from the Times Square building. I wasn't there...

Nice pictures Carol, I have never seen deer eating from a birdfeeder before!     I bet they get tired trying to get their tongues into the small openings for the seeds!  Very cool!

Thanks Annie!  I think the deer suck out the seeds like a Hoover vacuum cleaner.  Or maybe an Orick!   

Very cute Donna.  Looks like the dad is doing alot of caretaking of the little one including feeding.
