My friend Joan from Scotland shared this with me.
"If it didn’t Bring you Joy, Just Leave it Behind. Let’s Ring in the New Year With Good Things in Mind. Let Every Bad Memory Go That Brought Heartache and Pain. And let’s Turn a New Leaf With the Smell of New Rain. Let’s Forget Past Mistakes Making Amends for This Year. Sending You These Greetings To Bring you Hope and Cheer Happy New Year! ~Author Unknown"

Awesome pic! Dana took this picture with her phone through my scope. This is the pair Dana, Kathy O and I were watching hunting off of the old railroad bridge in the middle of the river down at Charlotte this afternoon. They are a beautiful pair with coloring very close to that of Mariah and Kaver. We're pretty sure that this is the unbanded pair that we had previously been watching at the Irondequoit Mall. Is this Charbay, our Winter female falcon from last year, with her mate? Could the male be Mr T? We hope to see more of this beautiful pair and wouldn't it be great if they found somewhere (away from downtown and KP) to nest and have babies this year? That would be awesome!

Another year has flown by! Literally! It has been an odd year for us here in Rochester. But even though there were no young falcons to watch grow up to fledgling or grace our sky, we have a lot to be thankful for.
The Watchers were able to spend some time helping out our friends in Buffalo and Canada on their fledge watches and were involved in two rescues in Buffalo at Central Terminal. We were able to travel over the border into Canada and witness the banding of Rhea Mae's, Linn's and Quest's young ones. We even visited Stormin's new nest site where he took over caring for the young that hatched there. For those that don't know, Stormin is Rhea Mae's son.
On Sunday, January 1st 2012 at noon, all of the Rochester Falcon Watchers and Rochester Falcon Fanatics are invited to gather near the intersection of Exchange and Broad, below the falcon nest box high on top of the Times Square building for our annual toast to a successful 2012 Rochester Falcon season.
To all our falcons fans around the world, please feel free to join us in this toast.
Here's to a successful year for our Rochester Falcons Archer, Beauty and Unity. May there be fluffy eyases to watch grow up. Let there again be young Peregrine Falcons gracing the sky above Rochester, NY.
Wishing all of you and your families peace and joy this holiday season!
Quite a few folks have contacted me to let me know they're coming. If you can make it, we'd sure love to see you on Sunday, 1/1/12. Hope you can make it.

I was afraid she wasn't going to make it but I'm thankful her suffering is over! Looking at those pictures of her damaged talons. It's a miracle she survived as long as she did. It just goes to show you the will to live is so strong. Poor girl. She's free now.
