She's in her wheelchair and ready to roll to rehab at 531.

She needs a "14" on the back of that wheelchair and then she can race everyone else!

She needs to motivate on her own two feet, not race down the halls in a wheelchair!   Grin

Visited with her for a few moments in her new room.  There were four other people visiting, so I didn't stay long.  She seemed in good spirits and the area she's in now is all new.  They've really done a great job there.

Didn't Quest  also try to fight off a female at another nestbox (Port Colborne, maybe?). She would recognize this as familiar

Yes she was seen at Port Colborne...at least it was a female with a transmitter on a pink harness-I don't think they ever read the band, but I don't think there's another set up just like Quest's out there.

At any rate, I do believe she would see a box with a roof as being the proper type of box  Wink

Yes, Port Colborne.  She's way better off where she is now.  I've seen both nest sites and she's chosen the best location as far as I'm concerned.   happy

thanks2 clap I needed that! clap

Me too!  Thanks for the extra time Lou.  It's interesting trying to pick one that has no "hand of man" in it.  Our wildlife is so merged with us humans.

Everybody be sure to send in your favorite wildlife picture that you took to Lou by this Friday.   thumbsup

I remember there was a picture of Rhea Mae in that position when she had attracted Tiago to her heart heart heart

lol  She does like to kick things.  I remember there was a picture of her as a baby kicking the side of the nest box.  She kicked Aura off the Genesee Brewery.  She also kicked the biologist that remained on the nest ledge when they took her babies that first year.  The girl's a kicker!   laugh

Rhea Mae showing off her band...or sending a left hook to someone...

She's practicing her high kicks!  eeeeee-YA!  Love that girl.   wub2

Kathy O and I visited with Mak this evening.  She is in good spirits and feeling ok considering what she went through this morning. She really enjoyed the wonderful basket of goodies that Kathy brought her, including a pig named Sniffer!   laugh

Dinner came while we were there, so we were able to help get things ready for her.  I have to admit that the sliced turkey, mashed potatoes and squash smelled yummy.   hungry

Cam has been pointing at the sky for almost 2 hrs now! Wonder what they be doing?

Contacted Donna at Harlequin about this and she said she'll check it out when she gets into work tomorrow morning.

We took a trip yesterday to visit with Quest and Kendal and our friends at the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and Harlequin.  We wanted to see the beautiful new nest box that Quest and Kendal would call home.  WONDERFUL!   clap

So THAT'S where everyone is today!

“The Girls” from Rochester Meet the William Osler Pair!!
October 15, 2011 - Etobicoke - William Osler
Tracy Simpson Reports:

Today we had lunch with “The Girls” and as they were heading back home, they wanted to stop in and visit peregrines on their way.  We gave them directions to the William Osler Hospital site and after all of the tales we’ve shared with them about this fabulous pair, they wanted to see them for themselves.  They report:

When they arrived on site, both O’Connor and Hurricane were on the east facing “H” sign of the hospital, each on a corner facing one another.  The two of them sat in the lee of the winds enjoying an evening roost without the kids.  Carol remarked on how sweet and pretty O’Connor looked up there with her dapper male, Hurricane.  Needless to say, I have insisted they come back for the 2012 Fledge Watch to see this pair in action and witness what wonderful peregrine parents they are!!

The three young have been away from the nest site for quite some time, fine tuning their skills in preparation for their great flight south.  As Frank has reported to me from his hawk watch, many peregrines are on their way and I suspect that Wind, Rain and Storm have headed towards the border by now.  We wish them a good journey and look forward to seeing them possibly raising families of their own someday!

I told Tracy that she just makes up all those stories about how crazy O'Connor is.  That she's really a very sweet girl that is just misunderstood.    laugh

I am a long time lurker. I first joined the old Kodak board, and I am a member on the Yahoo board also. I used to post something once in a while on that board, but I have never posted on this board. I love to read it, and I keep up, but I have never really figured out how this board works, so I don't post. I used to always say a big "Thank You" to all the fabulous watchers on Lurker Come Out Day. I will do that now.

I check in on a number of cams but this one is so superior because the watchers fill in the whole story, not just the events in the nestbox. I am a very grateful lurker for all that the active members do. Mary Alice in Charlotte (that's North Carolina)

Hi Mary Alice!   wave  Nice to hear from you.  Congrats on your first post on the new forum.  Keep them coming.   clap

Looks like Twitter is still having problems.  I retweeted my 4 pm tweet and it came through with no problem.   confused

What a TWIT Twitter is!! BOO!!!

Carol, do you think the 2nd falcon was Archer?

I can't be 100% sure Donna, but due to behavior, I do believe it was Archer with Unity at KP at 4 pm.
