Just love their "singing"!  You can definite tell the difference between the kids and the adults.  Love watching them.

She just has a little bit of the poofy look going.  She's quite lovely.   

Let me tell ya, driving into that sun this morning was wicked bad! I just prayed no pedestrians or cars got in my path at times! Talk about blinded by the light!!!  

It isn't much better when it's directly behind you and blinding you from your rearview mirror.  Yikes!!!     I had to flick my mirror down, like I had someone with their brights on behind me.  That worked thankfully.

That's what big hurricanes do when they hit the Northeast -- massive flooding. I remember the mess Agnes made in '72. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Agnes

I remember the damage that Agnes did on the east coast.  and who could forget Hurricane Carol in 1954 (ok I wasn't born quite yet).  Looks like the path of this deadly Hurricane was close to Irene's path.

The Elephant Sanctuary (TES)in Hohenwald Tennessee was where Shirley and Jenny
met after 20 years. They were inseparable for several years after this film was
made. They both had leg injuries and slowly but surely made their way around
the enormous sanctuary. They shared a stall and were entwined like you saw in
the video. Sadly Jenny passed away recently and Shirley grieved and often
visited the grave of Jenny. But after a few months, Tarra kept coming to
Shirley and as if she realized that maybe Tarra needed a mother figure, Shirley
took here under her wing. You see, Tarra, the first member of the sanctuary is
a loner, but now she can be found with Shirley walking miles to the lake and all
around. TES is a wonderful place. The website is elephant.com.

I'm sorry this is so long, but you can tell I have been following TES since
1999. Another wonderful story is Tarra and her dog Bella. It was on CBS, I

Some years they go through full molts and other years just partial molts.  Looks like a full molt for Beauty this year.

Oh, my goodness Jeanne.  That was incredibly touching & heartwarming.  Love, love, love these beautiful creatures.   

Sounds like everyone is doing ok.  That's good news!

That is a mystery Kris.  I have no idea what these bugs are.  Is there anything above the umbrella, like a tree or the roof of the house?  Could they be falling down from something onto the umbrella?
