Happy to hear that Unity may still be around.   Did she stay around all last winter?   I can't seem to recall.  It seems she's been here for a long time....looking at the pictures.  She wasn't identified early on, so she was Lady P.
So all three accounted for today...a good day!

Hey Margaret.  You are correct.  Before we were able to positively ID Unity, we were calling her Lady Pefa.  She was here through the Winter, so I believe she will remain on territory.

On my way home, around 4 pm, Unity was up inside the "pigeon box".

I experienced it while having sushi in a Japanese restaurant.  It provided a wonderful, authentic ambience.

I really enjoyed this photo story.  Wonder where the transmitter is?

Paul

Thanks Paul.  The transmitter that was on this gull is almost exactly the same as Quests.  It is solar powered, so it must be getting sun at least part of the day.  We are wondering if it might be up higher in the bushes or trees.  Maybe not on the ground.  When we go back in the fall, after the leaves fall, maybe we'll see it.

Carol, do they think the transmitter is still on the bird or that the bird, perhaps, was able to free itself from it?  Excellent photo album!!  You guys are adventurers!

Hey Jeanne!  Thanks!  I have a feeling that the gull is probably dead.  Assuming that the feathers we saw belonged to him.  Not sure if the transmitter is still on the gull or not.  We were looking for a dead gull and just a transmitter.  I hope we can find it the next time we look.

Here is the website explaining why the Ring-bill Gulls are being banded and given transmitters.  The study is being run by the University of Quebec at Montreal.

hope you kept your eyes to the skies, looking
for jemison---although jem i bet is living elsewhere-w/ a gigantic
family of fledges

We are always looking for our little ones.

When we were driving through Montezuma and reached the spot that we released Jemison, I couldn't help remember how he sprung out of the box, healthy and healed and flying off to his new life, wherever that might be.  wub2
