In fact, the iim7, V7 progression ("two-five," as it's commonly known) - sometimes followed by the tonic chord ("two-five-one") - is probably the most important progression in jazz.
Well, of course! That is just so basic!

We all do,too, Carol. Do you think the sky battle you saw yesterday morning was an intruding PeFa...maybe Mariah, or do you think it was U and B and that's why B laid low yesterday? I can't say for sure, but I personally don't believe that Beauty was involved in the battle I witnessed at KP yesterday morning. Just really glad she finally showed herself.

has anyone seen Beauty since the reported possible falcon fight this am--Unity and Archer seem to be okay
Nope, she has not been at the nest all day. That might have been her earlier on FCT. So that would be after Carol's sightings. MAK will be out early and she won't leave until she finds the Beautiful one! I was just arriving at KP this morning as MAK was leaving downtown and she had Beauty on FCT up til the time she left, I believe. So, I don't think Beauty was involved. I think it was either Unity & another female or Archer and another male passing through. Both were close to the same size. Before now, I've seen Archer chase off two males, an adult and a juvie. My suspicion is it was him and another male. But that's just a guess. Also, Dan told me tonite he had been out early afternoon and saw no Falcons at KP. He told me Unity flew in to KP around 7 pm. We'll keep watching. Archer should be sending one of these males Beauty's way. She definitely needs a new mate! Agreed Kris! I'm hoping that when he leaves on his Winter migration, another Tiercel comes in and bonds with either Beauty or Unity. So, when he comes back only one of the ladies will be available. That would be so nice! Maybe Mr. T. will return-he really seemed to like Beauty. Mr. T was an awesome Tiercel! I was amazed to see how much he learned from Beauty during the Winter months. She never got too close to him. She was waiting for Archer's return. But she took him under her wing and showed him how it was done. When he first arrived, he would beg for food from her and before he left, I saw him tandem hunt with her over the river. I REALLY liked Mr. T. I was hoping that when Archer returned after his Winter migration, Mr. T might go visit with Miss Unity.

When I first saw that beautiful picture that Mark Nash took of Linn, I caught my breath and thought, wow! she's the spitting image of her mom, Mariah. I wasn't the only one. Most of the Rochester Watchers I spoke to couldn't believe how closely they resembled each other. When we went to Scarborough to witness the banding of Linn & Rueben's eyases, we were amazed to see that Linn also had Mariah's split wing tip! The last time I spoke to Mark, I asked permission to use his picture. I had an idea, a compare picture of Mariah and Linn and I had the perfect picture in mind to use. It took me awhile to find it, but I finally did. I sent the compare pic to Mark and he was stunned. He loved it and had the picture posted in the Scarborough Yellow Pages section of the CPF website. http://www.peregrine-foundation.ca/w/2011/08/sightings/mariah-linn/
