I am also wondering where Beauty is. I hope we get a report from the on-the-scene watchers tonight. B was last seen before 5 pm tonight is what I am gathering from the reports. Is that correct? But she has not been seen since then? But looking at watcher reports, it seems that Archer is bonding more to Unity, and Beauty is or has been rejecting Archer? Sad at all of this is, it is fascinating to watch. . We are so used to watching them on camera that it is hard to not "see" what is going on-- especially at this time of year when it is hatching time/even banding time during other years!
We may never know all the answers to this year's happenings, but it is one for the archives!
By now you'll have seen Beauty is on her favorite perch...5th column on Xerox south side. The watchers are stretched pretty thin right now. Keep in mind that we're not seeing everything...as much time as Archer has spent at KP today, he's been pretty much at TS full time for the past few days. He's just bonding like any peregrine would with his mate(s) at this point in the year. Whether any of it will produce more eggs remains to be seen. But they're all just doing what peregrines do. Agreed Ei! and remember this is a holiday weekend. Yet more drama on a holiday weekend. What is up with that! Many Watchers are not available that would normally be out and about. I remained at KP because two falcons were there. Joyce said that she would check on Beauty when she dropped off MAK. I'm really glad she found her. We could sure use help if any locals would like to volunteer.

I second that! There is a whole team of Watchers out there, trying to keep track of what 's going on. All of us choose to do this, because we all love Peregrine Falcons. Some cannot be out there as much as they would like. Believe me, I would much rather be out watching Falcons than going to work every day. This has been a year of firsts and although it's hard for us to watch this all unfold, at the same time we are learning more about Peregrine behavours than we thought we ever would. This has been hard on all of us. The Watchers I have spoken to are heartbroken. If someone had told me any of this would happen in the beginning of the year, I would have said "NO WAY!" Well way, it has happened and continues to happen. We will ALL continue to keep watching and reporting what we see. Carol P.

Wait, am I still following this correctly? I know B followed A up to KP, but she is still up there hanging out on one of the stills? I think we need a really clear Falcon watch report tonight. Did I read Mak's report right? "B on West still, A on tall still north side?" Is that right? And Unity whining in the background? And then A mating with Unity? - Margaret Ok, I know none of this is funny, but Margaret, this made me LOL. BTW, MAK reported incorrectly on this tweet, it was really just Unity and Archer at that point.

Everyone - make sure you read MAK's blog for today under "Falcon Watch". She has written a wonderful report of today's happenings, bringing all of us in to her experiences. Well done, MAK, even tho it was a sad day. You were meant to find that egg. No one else would have realised its importance. Nor would they have treated it with such love and respect.
I know I would have and any of the Rochester Falcon Watchers that found it.

You know, I think that other watchers/viewers -- not just Lola -- may have difficulty locating the Blogs. Maybe somewhere on here, there should be information about accessing the blogs -- both Falconwatch and Imprints, and of course the Quest blog. (Maybe there is and I just don't know it!) I even saw today that some weren't sure how to post a comment under the forum or having difficulty doing so. Perhaps under the home page, there could be a section for that. Shaky? Is that something you can do? I still don't know how to capture a picture and attached it to a post! Maybe a section called Navigating Falconcam ? I know I have learned an awful lot --and made a lot of blunders -- navigating these pages and watching our falcons and posting comments. Hey Margaret - at the top of each page on the blue banner, under the RFalconcam logo, is where you can find "blogs" (near the center). Click on that and then choose which blog you would like to read.

I would say i'm sad but i guess it's not ok to say that here but i am i anyway. R.I.P. falcon eggs of 2010 - meet you at the Rainbow Bridge no i don't think the last egg will hatch but B & A have done their best & i them Braveheart - I'm curious why you don't think it's ok to post that you're sad about the loss of A&B's eggs? Of course it is ok. This has been such a strange year for our Rochester Falcons, Archer and Beauty and yes, Unity. I am very sad at the loss of all five of their eggs and potential young. It would have been a wonderful year watching fledglings from two different nest sites, but it's not to be. I plan on continuing to watch the cameras (and in person) in hope that Archer and Beauty re-clutch. That would be awesome! I will also keep checking on Unity at Kodak Park. Miracles do happen.

Phooey! Looks like another one broken. Well, if a reclutch is possible, I believe the current clutch needs to be gone first I believe you are correct Ei. So, if there is hope for a 2nd clutch and the last egg is not viable, it's better if they go quickly. Crossing fingers for a 2nd clutch. That will be a new one for us.

My thoughts on this cracked egg and I am certainly no expert. I believe it was empty, without a yolk. I do not see any evidence of leakage from this egg, on or near the cracked section egg. A&B don't seem to be in any hurry to dispose of this egg. Normally they would. They did last year. Mark Nash told me that if there is any leakage from a broken/cracked egg, it must be removed as soon as possible. This is due to the damage that it may cause to their feathers. I'm still not giving up hope for the last two eggs, which seem to be intact. There may be no hatches in Rochester this year, but I won't give up until A&B give up.

I wonder if mini was big enough to be banded? Yep, they banded him as a male. I was kind of surprised. Doesn't even have the bright yellow feet of his siblings yet. What a cutie! Everyone fell in love with Cinnamon.
