Just a quick update. Dana and I were at KP when the 3rd Peregrine flew in. We believe that it was LP that flew into the PPH and started sounding the Pefa alarm call. We then saw a Falcon above her on the blue bldg. We assumed it was Archer. The Tiercel took off heading around the west end of the blue bldg. That's when we saw #3 flying in from the north. It looked like two Tiercels and there was a chase, push & shove battle going on.
While LP continued to vocalize the two males continued to fly around the area. The 3rd did not want to give up, but eventually there was just two falcons in sight.
I truly hope that another Tiercel comes in to KP and that Archer returns full time to Beauty and the downtown nest location.
Watchers tonite included, Dana, Kathy O, Larry O, MAK, Susan and Carol P. The sun was shining most of the time, but it was very windy and cold.
We'll keep an eye on the situation.

This is such GREAT news! M&K girls are strong, fierce Falcons. Lots of good genes. When Linn was first seen, she was at Scarborough Bell on the hack box that was used to hack Tybropa Cree. He was actually seen with Linn before he made the trip across the lake and met Mariah. This is turning into quite the Peyton Place.

Nothing is up. It was a joke.
Oh dear! Now I need jokes explained! This is not good! It must have been too subtle. Let me explain. A comment was made about how Archer didn't spend much time on the eggs last year because Beauty wouldn't didn't let him, to which I replied that he, as a male and her superior, should simply do what he wants and tell Beauty, a mere female, to go away and bring him his meal. This would obviously result in dire consequences for any male that was dumb enough to try this, which I pointed out in the punchline -- me being in traction.

Turkey Vultures are usually just floating through the area on migration. They may be attracted to the caches left by the Peregrines on top of buildings. As far as I know, they are no threat to Peregrines or their young. They are just in the wrong spot at the wrong time, when it comes to a protective Peregrine Papa. Personally, I think Turkey Vultures are handsome birds. If you get a chance to visit with Barf at Wild Wings, you might change your opinion. Carol P. Thanks,Donna for asking, and thank you to BF and Ann for the report and pics of Kendal with TV. I left work yesterday and stopped because I saw the ugliest thing sitting in the road. It flew up when I passed, so of course I stopped and then saw three turkey vultures sitting in trees on the side of the road. I pulled out my binocs and just sat and watched them. They are big and "big ugly". So good for Kendal for sounding the alarm and chasing this big, ugly TV from the nest. Actually, if someone can answer...how much of a threat are TVs to the nest? I thought they were only attracted to carrion, and by the scent or gasses given off by decaying matter. Do TVs prey on nests too? I know our parents downtown have been subject to TVs and given chase as well. Can anyone inform?

Yay 3 for Rhea Mae and Tiago! WooHoo! Donna - that is one of my favorite pictures of Rhea Mae. When we saw that picture, the original road trip gals, Kathy O, Lisa McK & Carol P, made immediate plans to travel to Whitby and find our beloved Rhea Mae. That was the best trip ever. We never did find her, but we had an awesome time trying. I have no idea how many people we showed that picture to and asked, "Have you seen this bird? Have you seen that branch?" Hahahahahaha!
