Just seeing if people were paying attention. The Pigeon Box is a square structure at the east end of the chute where lots of Pigeons fly up into. Lady Pefa has figured out that this is a good place to get out of the weather and look for Pigeons at the same time. Kind of like the elevator shaft on the OCSR. OK that is a new one. What is the pigeon box? Another one for the glossary.

and I'll never forget the look in those gorgeous eyes when she looked back over her shoulder and saw me. Uhuh! No way! and away she went to a low building. That was exactly what we wanted. To have her safely off the ground and away from cars. My first up close and personal was the day Quest fledged. She flew very well, but couldn't get height to get back up to the roof of Kodak, and landed on the grassy area across the street on Brown. Then she got herself up on the guard rail next to the alley. We were very concerned with Quest being so close to the road where cars go by. It was decided a rescue would be made. Carol was behind Quest with her jacket, and I was approaching slowly from the front with another watcher to distract Quest. Well, Quest would have none of it! She turned around, saw Carol and flapped her way to a low building.
I will never forget looking into those juvenile eyes. But little miss independence found her way to higher places over the next few hours. And today, she is still the independent peregrine wandering around the north shore of Lake Ontario.

Anything Else / Totally OT / The Loss of a Rochester Falcon Watcher - Kathy G.

It is with sadness that I post this. Some of you may remember long time Watcher Kathy G. She started watching when Mariah & Cabot-Sirocco were a pair at the Kodak Tower and through all the Mariah and Kaver years. She & Dan were the first Watchers to meet on the pedestrian bridge during the early morning hours. She was a good friend to many of us. This morning, Kathy lost her battle with lung cancer. I will always remember her as a fellow Watcher and a friend. Fly Free Kathy. We'll miss you.

Dana has been out with her camera a couple nights this week. No luck due to distance. Maybe if we get a nice sunny afternoon. Dot/all, We're trying hard to get pictures that will allow us to ID the Tiercel hanging out with Lady Pefa. So far, they have been too far away from where we park to do that. We cannot get any closer. This is Kodak property and they have been very accommodating, letting us park where we have a view of the area. We'll keep trying. I too hope it's Mr. T.
we need someone with a really long lens. Dana (I think), Jim
