Kevin and I loved Leslie Nielsen's humour and we always of proud that he was a Canadian.  He had impeccable delivery!!  And, yes, Carol, "And don't call me Shirley", peppered our everyday conversations for years!!  It's a nevermiss for a grin!  Thanks for reminding me!!  Mr. Nielsen gave us a lot and had a good run with the public.  I'm sure he will be remembered for a long, long time!

Interestingly, this was a favored spot for M&K to eat their meals.  Looks like Beauty might start using it for that same purpose.  I had always wondered why A&B didn't use this building.  Thanks MAK.

  This morning was the first time I witnessed Beauty on the Crossroads building which is on the northeast corner of Main St. at State St. If you'll recall Jemison and Callidora landed on it a few times when they were fledging. We (watchers) believe this is the building Jemison flew into before he ended up on the grass in front of the Rochester Plaza Hotel on the morning of 7-3-10. The sight of his first rescue that fateful day. The hotel is next to this building to the north on State St. Just wanted to explain so that people could understand. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw Beauty land on it this morning. Have a great day everyone!

So, what do we know about the history of the Rochester Falcons?  We all know about Mariah and Kaver and before Kaver, Cabot-Sirroco.  Now the new kids in town, Beauty and Archer have started their own section of Rochester History.

There is a vast amount of information out there.  Many of the members, old and new, on this forum have much to contribute.  It's time to pull all this info together onto this site.  The goal is to have one place to go to read all about the Rochester Falcons.

I am putting out a call for volunteers to help with this project.  Everyone is welcome to join this team.  We'll have lots of fun and maybe shed a tear now and then as we all work to bring back our favorite falcons to share with the world.  They ALL deserve to be remembered and cherished.

Please reply to this if you would like to join this team.  I can use all the help I can get.

I caught this one of Chewbacca the Wookie Cat today.  I NEVER see him in the cat tree because, well, he just doesn't fit...as you can see here...

Would anyone like to volunteer to lead this effort?  I did it for quite a few years and it was a lot of fun.  Just don't think I'll have the time this year.

The Merchandising Committee was very busy this year watching falcons and did not have a chance to make new cards. Also, we did not have a holiday picture contest at the end of last year because there were no eyases and there weren't many interesting pictures from the nest box. We should definitely have a contest this year just like in previous years.

I am so very sorry I questioned anything.  That I seemed to assume that everything ran along smoothly, without the hard work of the few.  Thanks to all who support this forum, do the hard background work.  I'm sure you find it fulfilling and that we certainly benefit from your work.  I'm sorry, in this format, that I am sometimes slow in catching what is going on...  I will sit back and learn and enjoy what I can, where I can.  Please keep up with all your amazing efforts, what you see as best for the group!

Well, I'll speak up for the Merchandise team, of which I am the chairman.  Way back, I pulled together a very talented team of Rochester folks to work on a project I had thought had potential to raise a lot of money for the Rfalconcam.  You may all remember it.

We reached out to the Rochester Falcon Watchers to collect bits and pieces of yellow masonry that had fallen to the ground.  Such important pieces of Rochester Falcon history.  Do you remember now?

If you guessed BRICKS FOR CHICKS, you are correct.  This and M&M's for M&K raised a lot of money, with your help.  We thank all of you that purchased a piece of Rochester Falcon history of their own.  

The other team members are Kathy O, Dana, Marcia, Carrie, Lou & Shaky.

We, the Rfalconcam Merchandise Team, are currently offering for sale, besides what is listed on "The Scrape", Christmas Cards, Note Cards with a design by Dale Pesmen (thanks Dale), and Lou's post cards.  All proceeds go to the running of RFalconcam.

This won't be the first time we've changed the logo.  Those that have watched from the beginning know that the current Rfalconcam originated as the Kodak Birdcam, which had their own logos that changed each year.  Please help us choose our new logo by continuing to leave feedback on which ones you like and the reason why.  Suggest changes.

Anne, you asked if non-Rochester folks had volunteered to help out.  The answer is yes.  Shaky put out a call on the forum for volunteers for various things we needed help with and many answered.  Thanks to all of you that answered the call.
