Today's WAI?

This bird is widespread and very familiar throughout Europe. It is most common in western Europe.

This should be easy for all. (except me)  Embarrassed

Ummm, a Robin?   happy

7476  Other Nature Related Information / Falcon Web Cams / 2010 Cleveland Clinic Juvie Spotted at Montezuma 10/24/10 on: 26-Oct-10, 10:33:34 AM
Just posted this over on the CMNH forum.  Good news about one of the young from the Cleveland Clinic being spotted at Montezuma this past weekend.  Thanks to Suzanne and Don for bringing it to my attention and to Joyce who helped me find and verify the ID.   clap

Oh, I just love being the bearer of good news! I have some really great news about one of the young falcons from this site from 2010.

Diana Whiting was at Montezuma Wildlife Refuge (New York) on Sunday, October 24th and she spotted a gorgeous juvenile Peregrine Falcon hunting the wetlands. Thankfully, she was able to get some really good shots of the bands. Suzanne and Don from Ithaca forwarded this information to me. Joyce M and I looked up the band #'s and found that they belonged to Rumba! WooHoo! Here are some pictures that Diana took.

I know how wonderful it is to hear about our young ones after they leave the area, so I knew that you'd all be thrilled.

MAK reports that Beauty is now over on the Frontier Communication Tower.  At 7:45 am, a large bird flew by Times Square heading in that direction.  I think our new camera caught her as she flew by.   clap

Huh.  How about that.  I guess hair shows up brightly under IR illumination...

Guess we'll have to clean that up when we install PanCam.

I think we'll need to do a DNA test on it.   laugh

It was getting a little hairy there.  Thank goodness for maincam, super snooper.   2funny

Maybe it has something to do with the lights on the Times Square bldg.

Cheyenne looks frightened in this shot. GREAT pics by them again.
Then it's all Lovey Dovey.  clap

Can we assume Cheyenne does not Migrate or Seneca.

scared blue   I'd be frightened too if I saw those talons coming at me!  As far as migration goes I think male falcons are alot like human males. Some stay close to home and some like to stray!  devil

Me, too!

As for Mariah, Rich was asking about her yesterday and I told him that many of us believe she is both alive and in the greater Rochester area.  I really believe that.

I think she's around here somewhere too and that, just maybe, one of these unbanded juvies may be hers.   wub2

What buildings are we seeing on Camera 4 ??

From left to right...
  • Powers Building (with the flag)
  • Crossroads Building
  • Wilder Building (the small red brick building in front of Crossroads)
  • First Federal Plaza (with the "flying saucer" Changing Scenes restaurant on top)

and just to the left of the Powers Bldg (with the flag), just out of sight, is the Frontier Communication Tower (FCT) and the Kodak Tower.

You can also make out the Genesee Brewery and pedestrian bridge between the Powers Bldg and the Cross Rds Bldg.
