I received this report from Doug at Pt Colborne today (6/7/10)

He reports that he is sure he saw Quest in the nest box again at 1 pm today.  She stayed for about 1/2 hour.  Quest seemed interested in the box & checked out the scrape. He did not have his camera with him today, but will try to get a pic for us if she returns.

You'll remember that Freedom, Mariah and Kaver's first son, nested there for a few years and that this is where Archer was born.

I hope Doug is able to get pictures of Quest!

Excellent news!  Thanks for posting it Annette.  Glad to see that other Watchers joined Linda to find the wayward young fledgling.   

Actually Archer brought in a bit of prey and looked like he wanted to feed the eyases a 2nd time.  Beauty flew in, grabbed the food and Archer flew out.  Beauty checked to see if the eyases were interested and when they only ate a small portion, she ate the rest herself.  Poor Archer, he is trying.

Wonderful first fledge observations!   

Just got word that Watchers Zoe and Big Frank will be joining Linda today to search for Scribe-Star.  Let's hope for the best.  I really hate those premature fledges!  Wish I lived closer.   

she is going to get you guys I will be very surprised if she doesn't go ballistic protecting her babies she is a lady with an attitude.  

Oh yeah, that's why I'm going down to check it out. After all she took down our queen Mariah and we thought she was fierce. There may be some blood shed!

Mariah was at a disadvantage.  Probably gravid with eggs.  I know she was fierce.
